Abstract

Separator for isolating drops of one liquid suspended in another by passing the dispersion over surfaces of PTFE to promote coalescence of the suspended drops. Pref. the active surfaces are metal substrates coated with PTFE. Pref. the dispersion is passed through narrow passages between inclined PTFE coated panels in a static separator where the dorps coalescence and collect countercurrent to the main flow, or between closely stacked PTFE coated skirts on a centrifugal separator.
