Abstract
In the parent patent, vulcanisable fluorinated elastomer-based compsns. for making vulcanised articles consist of (A) an elastomeric copolymer of vinylidene fluoride with >=1 other fluorinated monomers, (B) a vulcanisation accelerator, (C) a metallic cpd. and (D) a crosslinking agent. In the addition, (B) is an (ar)alkyl triarylphosphonium cpd. and (D) is (a) di-, tri- and tetra-hydroxy-benzenes, -naphthalenes, and -anthracenes, of which the aromatic ring carries an electron-acceptor substituent, or (b) bisphenols of the formula:- in which A is -CO, -SO-, -SO2, perfluorinated alkylene or penta-fluorinated alkylidene, and n is 1 or 2. (A) is pref. a copolymer chosen from vinylidene fluoride/hexafluoropropylene, chlorotrifluoro-ethylene/pentafluoropropylene, or vinylidene fluoride/tetrafluoroethylene/hexafluoropropylene, or pentafluoropropylene.
