Abstract
Light weight porous refractory and construction material comprises terracotta clay or kaolin which, before firing is mixed with a combustible cpd. of particle size 200 mu. The material may be starch, dextrine, wood flour, resin etc. and may be added at a rate of up to 120% of the weight of clay. The material is moulded and fired to burn out the combustibles by known methods. Lighter materials are produced than in prior art.
