Abstract
Material comprises sheets or strips of the high strength material, flakes or strips of the high modulus material and a matrix of low density material. The high strength material is a steel (pref. maraging steel), Ti or a Ni alloy. The high modulus material is B, SiC, TiB2, AlB2, MgB2 or B4C and may be adhered or evaporated onto a resin fibre or a thin sheet of a refractory metal.
