Abstract

Mandrel for use in reciprocating seamless tube rolling mill the mandrel extract head of which can be moved backwards at the end of the tube rolling operation to enable the forming of at least part of the normally scrap billet head. This is achieved by disengaging the extraction head which is held by latches and moving it backward thus permitting closer approach of the rolls to the end of the workpiece.
