Abstract

Products are stacked on series of carriers and transported and heated in vertical furnace chamber, having cylindrical, elliptical or other form, in which cyclonic flow of gas and air is induced by tangential burners and inlets respectively. The furnace may alternatively be electrically heated. Apparatus is compact, with reduced residence time c.f. tunnel kilns.
