Abstract

The feed material e.g. a mineral or limestone is charged in a thin layer to a continuous moving belt. A flexible belt is disposed to engage the granular material at an adjustable height or inclination to the bed. The impulses generated by the contact are fed via a damper to control oscillations to an electrical transducer linked to a strip chart recorder to give a visual rapid and automatic read out of the mechanical interaction which is then interpreted for grain size distribution.
