Abstract

A device for forming a uniform layer of loose bulk matl. such as chips on a moving conveyor comprises a feed station for the material followed by a continuous weigher and a thickness measuring device; signals from these are used to regulate the feed rate at the feed station. For forming a layer of wood chips for chipboard prodn. or any similar uniform layer of bulk prod. The appts. is simple and does not involve removal and back-conveying of excess matl.
