Abstract

A source of molten glass is joined to the inlet of a pressure pump which has an outlet for the glass under pressure. A distribution device is joined to receive pressurised glass from the outlet and a perforated tube is fed with molten glass by the distributor. The tube has a row of holes through which streams of glass flow. There is a device to draw out the streams into fibres. Used to make glass filaments.
