Abstract

The boarding mechanism consists of a rope ladder (14) which allows access to a cabin (13) pivoted freely at the pivot point (12) on the arm (11) which hangs over the side of the ship. The arm moves in a direction parallel to the ships hull. The top end of the arm is swivelled about a fixed point above the deck and actuated by a hydraulic cylinder (26). The top end of the beam travels inwards on tails so that the cabin can be lowered on to the deck of the vessel.
