Abstract

Heating garment e.g. glove or shoe, includes a heating element (pref. of copper wire) connected to a cadmium/nickel battery having a 4 amp/hour rating and, providing a power output of 2-3 watts. Pref. the battery weighs 150 grams and the garment is heated to 45 degrees C. In the case of a glove the heating element is located between the gloved outer and the lining and the battery is located in a pocket on the back on the glove, whilst in the case of a shoe the heating element is located in the sole and a first battery is incorporated in the heel and a second battery in a pocket on the side of the shoe. The garments are for wear during winter sports or by outdoor workers e.g. police, military.
