Abstract

587,189. Electrically-heated garments. SUMMERS, A. V. Jan. 25, 1944, No. 1362. [Class 39 (iii)] An electrically-heated garment has resistance elements, in the form of coiled wire, which are arranged and provided with a manually operable switch so that a number of heating effects can be obtained The elements of a number of garments may be connected in parallel to the switch. In the example shown, a spat 1 comprises two cloth layers with an interposed felt layer. Two elements, as at 6, are stitched between the felt and one of the cloth layers and connected between socket connectors 7 and 8, and 7 and 9, respectively, carried on a strap 10. The connectors 7, 8, 9 are coupled to a rotary switch whereby one element, or both elements in parallel or series, may be connected to an electric supply. Specification 569,699 is referred to.
