Abstract

The subject matter of the invention is a length limiter, particularly for a timber cutting machine. The timber cutting machine comprises a cutting element 1, which with the aid of feed elements 3 is designed to support timber that it to be cut, the timber after cutting being moved forward in the longitudinal direction s by the feed elements 3 in order to cut the timber from a following cutting point. The length limiter forming part of the cutting machine is intended to limit the length of the piece of timber that is to be cut from the timber to a length that can be adjusted, preferably by means of adjusting elements. The length limiter P has freeing elements 5 to allow the piece of timber cut from the timber to be moved forwards in the longitudinal direction at least after the cutting operation.
