Abstract

The invention relates to a device in the infeed section of a dry sorter, in which section (8) the wood is, from a pack (10), fed forward in the shape of boards along at least one conveyor (11), on which said boards are oriented into position with the aid of rollers forming an oblique angle with the feeding direction and/or by at least one elevator (9) in order to orient said boards, irrespective of their dimensions, in one layer and end to end for a subsequent treatment. The elevator (9) is constituted by a conveyor (15) which, as seen in a lateral view, is substantially S-shaped, and the straight portion (25) of which is tiltable relatively the horizontal plane by an angle ( beta ) corresponding to the dimension of the wood processed in the way that the elevator (9) is swingably mounted in a frame (16), in which the turning end (17) of said elevator (9) is vertically adjustable, its opposite drive end (18) being swingably mounted in said frame (16), and a conveyor (14) being movably connected to the turning end (17) of the elevator (9) in order to match the selected position of the elevator (9).
