Abstract

The invention relates to a battery-powered device (10). Mounted in the device (10), in place of the usual battery, is an adaptor (12) via which the device can be powered by an accumulator (11) or another more economical external current source. The usual standard batteries are replaced by special-purpose battery elements (13) which have the shape of a standard battery and which correspond to standard batteries as far as the voltage is concerned, and the number of which may be chosen freely on the basis of the desired operating voltage. The adaptor (12) is equipped with a printed circuit for setting the operating voltage which is desired. <IMAGE>
