Abstract

The present invention concerns a method and device of a new type for determination of the content of different fractions in a pulp suspension. Previously known arrangements and methods have been very inaccurate because of indirect measurement methods on whose result the flow rate of the suspension, temperature, chemicals and air in the suspension, etc. have an adverse effect. By means of the method according to the invention, for example, the fiber content of a liquid suspension in a flowing liquid can be reliably determined by determining the amount of water in the stream by means of the resonance frequency in the electromagnetic waves of radio frequency and, if necessary, the amount of air in the suspension by determining the water content of said suspension at two different pressures, in which the air, water and/or fiber content can be calculated when said pressure is known. <IMAGE>
