Claims (14)

1. Förfarande för framställning av xylitol och erytritol frän ett material innehällande arabinoxylan, kännetecknat därav, att materialet in-5 nehällande arabinoxylan hydrolyseras och frän det erhällna hydrolysatet sepa-reras xylos och arabinos, varefter xylosen reduceras tili xylitol och xylitolen till-varatages, och arabinosen underkastas alkalisk oxidation, varvid erhälls eryt-ronsyra, som reduceras tili erytritol, och erytritolen tillvaratages.
2. Förfarande enligt patentkrav 1, kännetecknat därav, att 10 materialet innehällande arabinoxylan utgörs av majsfibrer.
3. Förfarande enligt patentkrav 1, kännetecknat därav, att materialet innehällande arabinoxylan utgörs av kornfiber.
4. Förfarande enligt nägot av patentkraven 1-3, kännetecknat därav, att hydrolysen utförs under användning av svavelsyra. 15
5. Förfarande enligt nägot av patentkraven 1-4, känneteck nat därav, att separeringen av xylosen och arabinosen utförs kromatogra-fiskt.
6. Förfarande enligt nägot av patentkraven 1-5, kännetecknat därav, att xylosen och/eller arabinosen renas medelst kristallisation. 20
7. Förfarande enligt nägot av patentkraven 1-6, känneteck- ·; n a t därav, att reduktionen av xylosen utförs medelst katalytisk reduktion med väte.
8. Förfarande enligt nägot av patentkraven 1-7, kännetecknat därav, att den erhällna xylitolen tillvaratages medelst kristallisation. 25
9. Förfarande enligt patentkravet 7 eller 8, kännetecknat .· därav, att katalysatorn är Raney-nickel.
10. Förfarande enligt nägot av patentkraven 1-6, kännetecknat därav, att oxidationen av arabinosen utförs i en metanol/vatten-lösning. 30
11. Förfarande enligt nägot av patentkraven 1 - 6 eller 10, kän netecknat därav, att oxidationen av arabinosen utförs med syre. 106853
