Abstract
1.Un método para oxidar los componentes de monóxido de carbono e hidrocarburos o reducir los componentes de óxidos de nitrógeno en una corriente gaseosa que comprenda poner en contacto dicha corriente gaseosa en condiciones que convierten dichos componentes en dióxido de carbono, agua o nitrógeno, con una composición catalítica que tiene un material catalíticamente activador que comprende un componente de soporte de alúmina finamente dividido y un componente sólido finamente dividido y catalíticamente activador que contiene uno o más miembros seleccionados del grupo constituido por metales base que tiene un número atómico de 25 a 28 y renio, y un componente metálico del grupo del platino catalíticamente activador, comprendiendo dicho metal del grupo del platino uno o ambos de platino y paladio, estando depositado dicho material catalíticamente activador sobre un soporte sólido de tamaño macroscópico, estando presentes dichos uno o más metales base en dicha composición catalítica en una cantidad mayor que dicho metal del grupo del platino, preparándose dicho catalizador por deposición sobre dicho soporte sólido de tamaño macroscópico de un componente sólido finamente dividido que contiene uno o más miembros seleccionados del grupo constituido por metales base que tienen un número atómico de 25 a 29 y renio, y un componente de soporte de alúmina sólido, y mantenimiento de una cantidad principal de dicho metal base en forma sólida a todo lo largo de la fabricación de dicha composición catalítica.
