Abstract

In this method, the speech signal to be encrypted is separated within a time period into n time elements, and into m equally wide frequency bands, forming a matrix of n . m frequency-time elements. For encryption, these elements are permuted before transmission, all (n . m)! possible permutations being allowed. The permutation can be different again for each successive time frame, e.g. controlled by a pseudo-random number generator.
