Abstract

The process is for the manufacture of heat exchanger sub-assemblies, using two metal plates of any desired length. These have fitted to them on one side corrugated strips (5) running in the lengthwise direction, and half-tubes (2) are formed in the plates, these being separated from each other by flat portions. Two complementary plates are assembled together by their flat portions so that the half-tube sections are opposite each other, and the sections thus produced are cut into lengths and formed into a stack, the tube ends being connected to manifolds. The half-tubes can be formed before the strips are placed and secured in position.
