Abstract

An apparatus for cooling a blast furnace lining wherein a plurality of water jets are directed onto an aerator-multiplyer circumferentially attached to said furnace. Said aerator-multiplyer having a plurality of porous sheet surfaces to collect, aerate and direct the water evenly onto the furnace shell.
