Abstract

An improved mowing implement, to be attached to a vehicle, comprising a housing that extends substantially at right angles to the direction of travel of the vehicle, at least one set of two blade members supported for rotation in said housing and arranged above of said housing and intended to rotate in opposite directions and a transmission mechanism disposed within the housing and operated through coupling means from a transmission mechanism operated by the vehicle and coupling the blade members to each other without slipping, each having one of said blade members a blade holder and at least one blade secured to the periphery of the blade holder, while the blades of the two blade members are relatively offset and the paths of the blades of the two members blades overlap each other, characterized by a motor being arranged below the blade holder of at least one of the blade members, said engine communicating through a duct system with the transmission mechanism arranged in the vehicle to produce energy as well as an associated member.
