Abstract
An electrical connector 1, stamped from a single piece of resilient metal stock, is formed with two arms 3, 5 joined by a bight 4. With the arms open (Fig. 1, not shown), an insulated wire 14 is passed through a hole (13) in the bight 4 and its bared end 16 is passed under two straps 7 formed on arm 3. The arms 5 and 3 are then pressed together and a hook 6 on arm 5 engages beneath the conductor between the straps 7, and claws 12 on a strap 11 on arm 5 dig into the wire insulation to prevent its withdrawal. A socket 2 or plug (25, Fig. 6, not shown) is formed at the free end of arm 3, and reinforcing ribs (26, Fig. 7, not shown), may be formed in the bight 4. Two connectors 1 may be attached to an insulating support (19, Fig. 3, not shown) secured in a wall (23).
