Abstract
888,213. Cable and wire couplings. ASSOCIATED ELECTRICAL INDUSTRIES Ltd. Feb. 8, 1960 [Feb. 18, 1959], No. 5660/59. Class 38 (1). A device for making an electrical connection to an insulated conductor 4 at an intermediate point in its length comprises a metal body 1 having slots 3 to accommodate the conductor 4 and an insulating body 7 carrying a terminal 9 with an electro-tinned spike 10 which pierces the insulation and contacts the conductor core 4 when the body 7 is screwed into the body 1. A screw 14 partly in a hole 15 in the body 7 attaches a wire 12 to the terminal 9 and prevents relative rotation of the body 7 and terminal 9. An insulating pellet 11 prevents the spike 10 contacting the metal body 1.
