Abstract
In a diaphragm type dry gas meter a slide valve D has imparted thereto a movement which executes simultaneously oscillatory motion in both the rotational and translational modes in the same plane to prevent direct gas flow between inlet and exhaust and to execute a cycle in which each chamber port A1, B1, C1, D1 is connected to the inlet for part of the cycle and to outlet E for a further part of the cycle and is sealed with respect to the inlet and outlet and all other chamber ports during the remainder of the cycle.
