Abstract

A cartridge - actuated stud driving tool comprises a plunger 8 movable in a support I which is provided with a propellent gas chamber 5 communicating with a cartridge chamber 6 and a handle 4 carrying a breech block which is adapted to open or close the cartridge chamber upon pivoted movement of the handle. The handle 4 has a pivoted lever 17 provided with an arm 17a adapted to co-operate with a projection 19 on the support in order to lock the handle thereto. A trigger 20 is pivoted on the handle and carries two pivoted levers 26, 23, the lever 23 being arranged to actuate a firing pin 25 when the trigger is pressed and the lever 26 to engage in a slot, in a recoil damping mass 11 when the latter is in its correct firing position. A cartridge ejector lever 31a, 31b is pivoted on the support and is acted upon by a cam 35 in order to eject a spent cartridge when the handle is pivoted to the open position.
