Abstract
In a gauge for indicating the liquid volume delivered to, dispensed from and contained in a container a float 27, forming a close fit in a chamber 48 in restricted communication through an aperture 46 with the liquid, drives two indicating devices 20, 21 through the intermediary of gears 24, 25 and a helical head 28 mounted on a shaft 26 or perforated strip, Figs. 5 and 6 (not shown) or a helical strip, Fig. 4 (not shown). The indicator 20 is driven through a unidirectional drive 23 and records the total amount of liquid supplied to the tank 37 and the indicator 21 indicates the actual volume of liquid remaining in the tank 37. A horizontally movable disc Figs. 7 to 9 (not shown) is arranged to open or close the aperture 46. Devices are described to prevent siphoning of the tank and to give a very accurate indication of the liquid level, Figs. 10 to 14 (not shown).
