Abstract

The particle size of a latex of natural or synthetic rubber is increased by mixing the latex with a slurry of finely divided reinforcing agent and passing the blend through a constriction at a pressure of greater than 1,000 p.s.i.g. Reinforcing agents specified are polystyrene and carbon black. The products may be made into a foam or gelled and vulcanized. Specification 976,212 is referred to.
