Abstract

A formaldehyde polymer is acetylated with gaseous ketone at from 100 DEG to 200 DEG C. in the absence of air. The polymer is preferably in a purverulent state with grain size from 50 to 500 microns and may be suspended in a liquid in which it is insoluble or may be dissolved in a solvent.
