Abstract
Process for obtaining polymer compositions of stabilized mono- α -olefins characterized by using a composition comprising a solid polymer or copolymer of an aliphatic mono-olefin and as a stabilizer for the same a mixture containing (a) a sulfur compound of a molecular weight of at least 300 and has a group or groups (1) which altogether have at least 2 divalent sulfur atoms bonded to carbon sulfur and carbon carbon and carbon or carbon and hydrogen and (2) at least one divalent group ** ( see formula) ** where x and z are groups -o-so -nr-e y is oxygen or sulfur r is hydrogen or a hydrocarbon group; the divalent group (2) links carbon atoms of two organic groups together and the sulfur atoms of said groups (1) are either constituents of said divalent groups (2) or parts of organic groups linked to other organic groups by said groups (2) or parts of an organic group linked by a group (2) containing sulfur another organic group and (b) a phenolic compound having at least two phenolic residues and a boiling point at a pressure of 1 mm.
