Abstract
Method of manufacturing a pile-provided fabric consisting of transverse rows of whole loops and cut loops of pile yarn, the whole loops and cut loops being arranged in succession in the rows according to a pattern; method comprising carrying out a cycle consisting of the steps of: advancing the backing fabric step by step; during a single fabric rest period, inserting assembled portions of the pile strands through the fabric from one side of the fabric, forming a transverse row of loops of uniform height protruding from the opposite side of the fabric; simultaneously with the introduction of the loops, transport hair strands in increments to the place of introduction of the loops, varying the height increments according to the design, some of the increments being shorter than the thread length of one of said uniform loops, and removing lengths of thread from the already inserted thread loops, of which the increments carried during the introduction of the uniform loops were of insufficient length for the formation of one of said uniform loops, the length of the part removed from each corresponding yarn to the difference between the transported increment of each yarn and the length of the section necessary for the formation of one of said uniform loops; advance the fabric in one step and, during the advance of the TV, hook loops from a height greater than a given height from within, and, during the next period of rest of the fabric, section the hooked loops and form another cross row of hair loops protruding on said opposite side of the fabric by repeating said insert, transport and remove operations; and repeat the cycle.
