Abstract

An ironing board comprises a member 1 forming a working surface which is mounted on a leg assembly 2, 3 which is pivoted at 4 so that, in a storage position, it can occupy a position against the underside of the member 1, and a rest 8 for an iron which is mounted on slide members 5 and 6 on the underside of the working surface member 1 and which is connected for actuation thereof to the leg assembly by members 8 to 84, 9, 10, 11 and 12, enabling the rest 8 to extend beyond the member 1 in the working condition of the ironing board and be retracted beneath the member 1 in the storage condition of the ironing board. The leg assembly comprises two pairs of legs 2, 3 pivoted at 4 and with the legs 2 pivoted at 2, to the member 1 and the legs 3 carrying rollers 7 slidable in the members 5, 6. The rest 8 is connected to the leg assembly by a rod 11 extending into elongate apertures 9, 10, in arms 9, 10 connected to the rest 8.
