Abstract
Improvements introduced in oscillating crosshead compressors characterized in that the compressor comprises a crankcase, a main crankshaft rotatable in said crankshaft case, a first seat in said crankshaft case, a crosshead guide mounted on said first seat, an oscillating crosshead in said guide in a direction perpendicular to the first seat, a connecting rod connecting said crankshaft with said crosshead, a second seat of greater diameter than said first seat, a connecting rod joining said crankshaft with said crosshead, a second seat of diameter higher than said first seat of the crankcase, a compressor cylinder structure provided with an intake and discharge opening and mounted in said second seat, and a piston and a connecting rod connected to said crosshead and oscillating in said structure.
