Abstract

Electrodo combinado para la fabricación de un metal por electrólisis, cuyo metal se encuentra presente en un electrolito de una celda electrolítica al sumergir parcialmente dicho electrodo en el electrolito de dicha celda, comprendiendo dicho electrodo una base de electrodo de plomo delgada y sólida y, como mínimo, un delgado elemento superficial de metal de válvulas en forma de rejilla, cuya base de plomo adopta forma laminar y tiene superficies frontal y posterior amplias, esencialmente rectangulares, así como un lado estrecho y superficies de fondo, poseyendo dichas caras frontal y posterior, como mínimo sustancialmente, bordes laterales paralelos y poseyendo además bordes superior e inferior, comprendiendo dicho electrodo superficies laterales del plomo expuestas, así como partes de la superficie frontal y posterior expuestas por encima del interfaz electrolito-aire de dicha celda, y cuyo elemento superficial de rejilla metálica tiene una multitudde huecos que exponen la base de plomo dispuesta por debajo de dichos huecos, extendiéndose dicha superficie de rejilla de metal de válvulas, como mínimo sustancialmente desde un borde al otro, a través de como mínimo una de dichas superficies amplias frontal y posterior de dicha base, extendiéndose simultáneamente desde debajo del borde superior de dicha base, pero por encima de dicho interfaz electrolito-aire de la mencionada celda, hasta sustancialmente el borde inferior de dicha base de plomo, poseyendo dicho elemento superficial de rejilla de metal de válvulas una cara principal frontal activa que presenta una superficie electroquímicamente activa, en forma de rejilla, para dicho electrodo compuesto y una cara principal posterior que está dirigida a una superficie amplia de la base de plomo y en el que dicho elemento superficial de rejilla está combinado con dicha base de plomo en contacto eléctricamente conductor.
