EN UN PROCESO PARA LA OBTENCION DE UN PRODUCTO MOLDEADO POR INYECCION, SE INTRODUCE UNA CORRIENTE DE MATERIAL PLASTICO EN UN ESPACIO (11) A UNA PRIMERA PRESION. EN UNA CAMARA DE ALMACENAMIENTO (28) SE ALMACENA GAS A UNA SEGUNDA PRESION, LA CUAL ES AL MENOS TAN ALTA COMO LA PRIMERA. EL GAS SE INTRODUCE EN LA CORRIENTE DE MATERIAL PLASTICO FUNDIDO, FORMANDOSE UNA CAVIDAD GASEOSA EN DICHO MATERIAL. EL GAS EJERCE UNA PRESION SOBRE EL MATERIAL PLASTICO QUE LO RODEA FORZANDO A ESTE HACIA LAS SUPERFICIES DEL MOLDE. LA INYECCION DE GAS PROSIGUE A MEDIDA QUE EL MATERIAL PLASTICO SIGUE PENETRANDO EN EL MOLDE. EL SUMINISTRO DE MATERIAL FUNDIDO TERMINA CUANDO LAS SUPERFICIES DEL MOLDE ESTAN TOTALMENTE CUBIERTAS POR EL MATERIAL FUNDIDO. LA PRESION SE MANTIENE DENTRO DE LA CAVIDAD GASEOSA AL ENFRIARSE EL MATERIAL PLASTICO. A CONTINUACION, LA PRESION SE LIBERA LLEVANDO LA CAVIDAD GASEOSA A LA PRESION AMBIENTE. EL MOLDE (9,10) SE ABRE PARA EXTRAER EL ARTICULO HUECO CONFORMADO. SE DESCRIBE IGUALMENTE UN APARATO PARA LA OBTENCION DE UN PRODUCTO MOLDEADO POR INYECCION.
