Abstract
An apparatus capable of functioning as both an alternator and a transformer comprising an inductive material stator having a pair of field windings and an output winding an inductive material rotor adapted when rotating with direct current applied to the field windings to produce a force alternating electromotive at the output of the output winding and an operable switching mechanism to reverse the polarity of one of the field windings or to disconnect the field windings from the direct current input and apply an alternating current input to a winding on the stator other than the field windings so that being the stationary rotor the application of an adequate alternating electromotive force to said field windings or to said alternating current input will induce an alternating electromotive force at the output winding output of the same characteristics as that produced by rotating the rotor.
