Abstract

In frames consisting of sheet-metal sections (1) which have a bending edge at the edge with the tread plane because one leg (2) of the frame is bent round into the tread plane, this edge cannot be made sharp. Thus, when the panels are laid against one another, there is a small gap which, especially where thin hard floor coverings are concerned, can lead to a break of the floor covering at this point under a load exerted at a particular point. The sharp edge can be obtained, on the one hand, by designing the leg (2) as a sheet-metal part (5) bent back on itself, the free end of the sheet-metal part (5) coming to rest on the panel edge. Alternatively, it can be achieved in that a bead (9) formed in the sheet-metal section (7) in the vicinity of the respective panel edge is evened off in a tool in such a way that it forms as a result of the creep of the sheet-metal material.
