Abstract

The abrasive according to the invention is prepared by calcining, at a temperature of between 70 and 1200 DEG C, anhydrous calcium hydrogenphosphate which has a mean crystal size of 2 x 10 to 3.5 x 10<2> nm. Depending on whether the calcination temperature is lower or higher than 700 DEG C, this abrasive will be employed either in a toothpaste or other oral composition, or in a grinding or polishing composition for metal surfaces, glass surfaces or wafers for printed circuits.
