Description

The invention relates to a folding box comprising a tray and a lid that can be opened in various ways.

Folding boxes with a shell and various closure systems are known in a variety of designs. Such folding boxes are available, for example, with simple side walls or side walls with a hollow edge. The closure systems are designed, for example, as insert lids. In the ECMA catalog the code B40.20.82.50 describes a folding box with simple side walls, adhesive tabs on the corners and insert lids. The code B49.21.00.51 denotes a folding box with side walls with a hollow edge, sealing delta tabs at the corners and insert lids.

With conventional folding boxes with a tray and lid, the lid can only be opened in a certain way.

The GB 1 083 059 A describes a folding box having a cup-shaped base with hollow and rigid sidewalls and a separately formed cover which are connected to the hollow and rigid sidewall via integral flaps and tabs which are interlocked with one or more slots.

The US 2,326,281 A describes a rectangular box with a hinged lid and means for releasably attaching the hinged lid to the box. The releasably attaching means includes a flat member extending from the axis of rotation of the cover along one of the two side walls and tabs extending from each end of the flat member. The box has inwardly extending projections on opposite end walls forming a shoulder at its lower edge. The top edge of each flap rests against the bottom edge of a shoulder.

Based on this, the invention is based on the object of creating a folding box comprising a tray and a lid, in which the lid has expanded functionality.

The task is solved by a folding box with the features of claim 1. Advantageous embodiments of the folding box are specified in the subclaims.

The folding box according to the invention comprises a shell with a bottom wall and side walls and a lid with a top wall for covering the shell, characterized in that the lid has two connecting tabs connected to at least one side wall of the shell, two each over a vertical first fold line with a connecting tab and above a horizontal second fold line connected to a first edge of the top wall corner connecting tabs, a dividing line running perpendicular to the first edge and dividing the top wall into two top wall halves and a third fold line connected to a second edge of the top wall opposite the first edge, bridging the dividing line and has a tongue divided into two tongue halves by a fourth fold line extending in continuation of the dividing line, whereby the top wall can be opened either by folding around the horizontal second fold lines between the corner connecting tabs and the top wall or by folding the tongue around the third fold line against the inside of the top wall and folding the top wall halves can be opened to the outside around the fourth fold line in the tongue and around the vertical first fold lines between the corner connecting tabs and the connecting tabs.

In the folding boxes according to the invention, the lid can be opened in two different ways. On the one hand, this can be done in a conventional manner by folding around the horizontal second fold lines between the corner connecting tabs and the top wall. On the other hand, the folding box can be folded by folding the tongue against the inside of the top wall and folding the top wall halves, including the associated tongue halves, around the fourth fold line in the tongue and folding the top wall halves, including the associated corner connecting tabs, around the vertical first fold lines between the corner connecting tabs and the connecting tabs happen. When the top wall is closed, the edges of the top wall halves, between which the dividing line runs, lie against each other. This is also the case when the lid is opened in a conventional manner by folding around the horizontal second fold lines. In the alternative opening method, however, when the lid is open, the edges of the top wall halves forming the second edge of the top wall lie against one another. In addition, with this opening method, the same sides of the top wall are directed upwards before and after opening. Due to the two different opening methods, which can be used either, the folding box has increased attention value, which can be used to promote sales. In addition, it is possible to print on the top wall in such a way that different graphic designs and/or information are displayed and/or presented in a way that is advantageous for the viewer due to the different orientations of the printing on the two top wall halves before and after opening according to the second-mentioned opening method become. The different representations can be tailored to the closed folding box and the arrangement of the product in the opened folding box.

According to a further embodiment, the top wall halves each have a diagonal fold line, which extends from the end of the dividing line in the last edge of the top wall extend to an outer end of the second edge of the top wall. The diagonal fold lines make it easier to open the lid in the second opening mode, since the two top wall halves can easily deform along the diagonal fold lines, making it easier to slide the top wall on.

According to one embodiment of the invention, the connecting tabs are inserted into parallel first plug-in slots at outer ends of a side wall of the shell. This means that the connecting tabs can be easily connected to the shell. According to a further embodiment, the connecting tabs are glued to at least one side wall of the shell. This means that the connecting tabs are easily and securely connected to the shell. The connecting tabs can be inserted into slots or glued to the outside of at least one side wall. According to a further embodiment, the connecting tabs rest on two parallel side walls of the shell.

According to a further embodiment, the connecting tabs are trapezoidal, with the height of the connecting tabs decreasing as the distance from the vertical first fold lines increases. This makes it easier to insert the connecting tabs into slots. According to a further embodiment, the connecting straps have the shape of isosceles trapezoids.

According to a further embodiment, the corner connecting tabs have the shape of rectangular trapezoids, with the horizontal second fold lines falling into the base sides of the trapezoids and the vertical first fold lines falling into legs of the trapezoids extending perpendicular to the base sides. This creates material-saving and visually appealing corner connection tabs.

According to a further embodiment, the lid with the tongue can be inserted into the bowl from above, so that the tongue clamps behind a side wall of the bowl. This allows the lid to be kept in the closed state of the bowl. According to a further embodiment, the insertion tongue can be inserted into a second insertion slot on the upper edge of a side wall of the shell. This allows the tongue to be held particularly securely on the shell. Alternatively, the tongue can be glued to the outside of a side wall so that the lid can be opened after the tongue has been removed from the side wall. For this purpose, a lower part of the tongue, which is connected to the side wall via adhesive, can be separated from an upper part of the tongue along a perforation line or other line of weakness.

According to a further embodiment, the insertion tongue is isosceles trapezoidal with a width that decreases away from the second edge of the top wall. This makes it easier to insert the tongue into the second slot.

According to a further embodiment, the shell is a hollow-rimmed shell. The design of the shell as a hollow edge shell particularly favors the formation of the first plug-in slots and/or the second plug-in slot. According to a further embodiment, the first plug-in slots are each formed on a fold line between a dust flap and a side wall and a further side wall folded against the dust flap. According to a further embodiment, the second insertion slot is formed on a fold line between an outer side wall part and a horizontal upper side wall part of a hollow edge shell. In the present application, the statements "top" and "bottom" as well as "horizontal" and "vertical" refer to an arrangement of the folding box with the bottom wall of the tray on a horizontal base and side walls projecting upwards with respect to the bottom wall, with the lid closed the top wall is arranged above the bottom wall.

According to Fig. 8 A second blank 29 of a lid 30 comprises a substantially rectangular top wall 31, two substantially trapezoidal connecting tabs 32, 33 and two corner connecting tabs 34, 35 in the form of rectangular trapezoids.

The connecting tabs 32, 33 are each connected to a corner connecting tab 34, 35 via a vertical first fold line 36, 37. The corner connecting tabs 34, 35 are each connected to a first edge 40 of the top wall 31 via a horizontal second fold line 38, 39.

The top wall 31 is divided in the middle by a dividing line 41 starting from the first edge 40 into two top wall halves 31 ', 31". The dividing line 41 extends to the opposite second edge 42. The second edge 42 is over a third fold line 43 connected to a tongue 44, which is arranged in the middle of the second edge 42 and bridges the dividing line 41. Continuing the dividing line 41, the tongue 44 has a fourth fold line 45, which divides the tongue 44 into two tongue halves 44', 44". . The tongue 44 is trapezoidal, with its width decreasing as the distance from the second edge 42 increases.

Furthermore, the top wall 31 has diagonal fold lines 46, 47, which extend from the intersection of the dividing line 41 with the first edge 40 to an outer end of the second edge 42. In addition to the end of the second edge 42, each cover wall half 31', 31" has an outwardly projecting support tab 48, 49 on the adjacent lateral edge.

To open the lid 30, the tongue 44 can be pushed out of the second slot 27 with your thumb. The lid 30 can then optionally be opened conventionally by unfolding it around the horizontal second fold lines 38, 39, in the opposite direction to closing the lid 30 from the in Fig. 11 position shown.

Alternatively, the lid 30 can be opened by folding the tab 44 under the top wall 31 and then folding the two top wall halves 31', 31" towards each other around the fourth fold line 45 and outwards around the vertical first fold lines 36, 37. This is in the Fig. 13 and 14 shown. It can also be seen from this that when opening in this way, the cover wall halves 31', 31" are each partially folded together along the diagonal fold lines 46, 47. At the end of the opening process, however, the two cover wall halves 31', 31" are both aligned horizontally again. When open according to Fig. 15 the two top wall halves 31', 31" abut each other with the respective sections of the second edge 42 of the top wall 31. Furthermore, the support tabs 48, 49 rest on the top of an upper side wall part 3 ^III and support the top wall 31 in the open position.

The lid 30 can then be closed again by moving through the opening movement in the opposite direction.

Claims (15)

1. A folding box comprising a tray (28) with a bottom wall (2) and side walls (3, 4, 5, 6) and a lid (30) with a top wall (31) for covering the tray (28), wherein the lid (30) has two connection tabs (32, 33) which are connected to at least one side wall (4, 6) of the tray (28), two corner connection tabs (34, 35) which are connected in each case to a connection tab (32, 33) via a vertical first fold line (36, 37) and to a first edge (40) of the top wall (31) via a horizontal second fold line (38, 39), characterized by a separation line (41) running perpendicularly to the first edge (40) and dividing the top wall (31) into two top wall halves (31', 32") and a tuck-in tongue (44), which is connected to a second edge (42) of the top wall (31) opposite the first edge (40) via a third fold line (43) which spans the separation line (41), and which is divided into two tuck-in tongue halves (44', 44") by a fourth fold line (45) which extends in continuation of the separation line (41), as a result of which the top wall (31) can optionally be folded up by folding about the horizontal second fold lines (38, 39) between the corner connection tabs (34, 35) and the top wall (31), or can be opened outward by folding the tuck-in tongue (44) about the third fold line (43) against the inside of the top wall (31) and by folding the top wall halves (31', 31") about the fourth fold line (45) in the tuck-in tongue (44) and about the vertical first fold lines (36, 37) between the corner connection tabs (34, 35) and the connection tabs (32, 33).
2. The folding box according to Claim 1, in which the top wall halves (31', 31") each have a diagonal fold line (46, 47) which extends, starting from the end of the separation line (41) in the first edge (40) of the top wall (31), up to an outer end of the second edge (42) of the top wall (31).
3. The folding box according to Claim 1 or 2, in which the connection tabs (32, 33) are inserted into parallel first insertion slots (25, 26) on outer ends of a side wall (3) of the tray (28).
4. The folding box according to one of Claims 1 to 3, in which the connection tabs (32, 33) lie in contact with two parallel side walls (4, 6) of the tray (28).
5. The folding box according to one of Claims 1 to 4, in which the connection tabs (32, 33) are trapezoidal, wherein the height of the connection tabs (32, 33) decreases with increasing distance from the vertical first fold lines (36, 37).
6. The folding box according to one of Claims 1 to 5, in which the corner connection tabs (34, 35) have the shape of a right-angle trapezoid, wherein the horizontal second fold lines (38, 39) transition into the base sides of the trapezoid and the vertical first fold lines (36, 37) transition into limbs of the trapezoid which extend perpendicularly to the base sides.
7. The folding box according to one of Claims 1 to 6, in which the lid (30) can be inserted with the tuck-in tongue (44) into a second insertion slot (27) on the upper edge of a side wall (5) of the tray (28).
8. The folding box according to one of Claims 1 to 7, in which the tuck-in tongue (44) is in the form of an isosceles trapezoid with a width decreasing away from the second edge (42) of the top wall (31).
9. The folding box according to one of Claims 1 to 8, in which the tray (28) is a hollow-edge tray.
10. The folding box according to Claim 9, in which the first insertion slots (25, 26) are each configured on a fold line between a dust flap (19, 20) and a side wall (3) and a further side wall (4, 6) which is folded against the dust flap (19, 20).
11. The folding box according to one of Claims 1 to 10, in which the second insertion slot (27) is configured on a fold line between an outer side wall part (5^II) and a horizontal upper side wall part (5^III) of a hollow-edge tray.
12. The folding box according to Claim 11, in which the hollow-edge tray has a thumb opening (14) adjoining the second insertion slot (27) in an outer side wall part (5^II).
13. The folding box according to one of Claims 1 to 12, in which the top wall (31) has support tabs (48, 49) projecting outward on the two lateral edges adjoining the second edge (42), wherein said support tabs rest between the two connection tabs (32, 33) on the upper edge of the tray (28) when the top wall (31) is opened using the second manner of opening.
14. The folding box according to one of Claims 1 to 13, in which the inner side wall parts (3^I, 4^I, 5^I, 6^I) have bottom tabs (7, 8, 9, 10) on the lower edges, which are supported on the bottom wall (2).
15. The folding box according to Claim 14, in which the bottom tabs (7, 8, 9, 10) project inward with respect to the inner side wall parts (3^I, 4^I, 5^I, 6^I) and each have bevels at both ends, wherein adjacent bottom tabs (7, 8, 9, 10) are supported against one another with the bevels.
