Against this background, one object of the present invention is to provide an improved control panel.

Accordingly, a control panel for a household appliance, in particular for a household cooking appliance, is proposed. The control panel comprises a control panel, a panel carrier that supports the control panel, and a haptic actuator that is coupled to the control panel in order to output a haptic signal to a user as feedback on the control process when the control panel is operated using the control panel, wherein the panel carrier has a recess through which the haptic actuator is guided to the control panel. The haptic actuator is attached to the back of the control panel.

Because the haptic actuator is guided through the panel carrier, only the control panel can be subjected to vibrations to emit the haptic signal. It is therefore not necessary to stimulate the entire control panel. This can amplify the haptic signal and/or reduce the output of the haptic actuator.

The panel carrier is attached to the back of the control panel, in particular glued to it. The haptic actuator is also attached to the back of the control panel. For example, the haptic actuator is glued directly to the control panel. The haptic actuator is preferably a so-called structure-borne sound transducer in the form of an exciter. Such a structure-borne sound transducer is essentially an electrodynamic loudspeaker without a membrane. This means that a voice coil of the structure-borne sound transducer does not drive a loudspeaker membrane, but is in particular directly connected to the control panel. The control panel is preferably exposed to a haptic signal in the form of vibrations.

The control panel is in particular a touchscreen or includes a touchscreen. The term "touchscreen" can also be replaced by the terms "touch screen", "tactile screen" or "sensor screen". A "touchscreen" is understood here to mean a combined input and output device in which the program sequence of a technical device, in this case the household appliance, can be directly controlled by touching parts of an image. The entire control panel of the control panel can be a touchscreen or selected areas, so-called "buttons" or "touch buttons", of the control panel can be designed as a touchscreen. According to one embodiment, the haptic actuator is suitable for additionally emitting an acoustic signal as feedback to the operating process.

This advantageously allows an acoustic signal to be emitted in addition to the haptic signal. The acoustic signal can, for example, be a clicking sound that simulates the switching of a mechanical switch.

According to a further embodiment, the control panel further comprises an acoustic signal generator for emitting an acoustic signal as feedback to the operating process.

The acoustic signal generator can, for example, be a loudspeaker.

According to a further embodiment, the control panel further comprises an input and output device for detecting the operating process and for outputting an operating state of the household appliance.

The operating state can be, for example, a program selected using the input and output device. The input and output device can be a display, in particular a touch display, or comprise one of these. The input and output device can be used to display or output the operating state of the household appliance, for example. At the same time, the input and output device is also particularly suitable for detecting an input, for example a program selection, from the user to the household appliance. For example, the input and output device can detect a touch of the control panel. The input and output device can be a sensory operator detection device, comprise such a sensory operator detection device, or be referred to as such.

According to a further embodiment, the input and output device is accommodated in the recess.

The input and output device can be glued to the control panel. In particular, the input and output device is provided on the rear of the control panel. The panel carrier is also preferably provided on the rear of the control panel.

According to a further embodiment, the haptic actuator is arranged next to the input and output device.

This results in a compact design of the control panel.

According to a further embodiment, the control panel further comprises a plurality of haptic actuators which are arranged distributed around the input and output device.

This allows different haptic signals to be generated. Furthermore, several different touch buttons can be implemented. In particular, the input and output device is provided between the haptic actuators. The number of haptic actuators is arbitrary.

According to a further embodiment, the control panel further comprises an intermediate element which is arranged between the control front and the panel carrier.

Preferably, a wall thickness of the intermediate element is greater than a wall thickness of the operating front. For example, the operating front can have a wall thickness of 1.5 mm. The intermediate element can have a wall thickness of 3 mm. The panel carrier is preferably a metal sheet. The panel carrier can also have a wall thickness of about 1 mm.

According to a further embodiment, the haptic actuator is guided through the intermediate element.

For this purpose, the intermediate element has an opening or a recess. Preferably, in the event that several haptic actuators are provided, several openings or recesses can be provided in the intermediate element.

According to a further embodiment, the intermediate element is glued to the operating front and the panel carrier.

This results in a permanent and firm connection between the components of the control panel. The intermediate element is arranged in a sandwich-like manner between the control front and the panel carrier.

According to a further embodiment, the intermediate element is made of a plastic material, in particular polymethyl methacrylate, and the operating front is made of glass.

Alternatively, any other suitable plastic material can be used for the intermediate element. The use of glass gives a high-quality impression. It also protects the front panel from scratches.

According to a further embodiment, the intermediate element comprises recesses with the aid of which a wave propagation of a structure-borne sound generated with the aid of the haptic actuator can be influenced.

This allows the haptics to be locally enhanced or reduced. This can be used, for example, to define a limited operating area, in particular a touch button, on the front panel.

According to a further embodiment, the recesses each form a local depression on the control panel, whereby a local influence on the haptic signal can be achieved.

This can reduce the performance of the haptic actuator. The "local influence" can be an amplification or a reduction.

Furthermore, a household appliance, in particular a household cooking appliance, with such a control panel is proposed.

The household appliance can be, for example, an oven or the like.

According to one embodiment, a device body of the household appliance has an insulating material to absorb structure-borne sound resonances of the haptic actuator.

This prevents unwanted noise. Bitumen mats can be used as insulation or absorption material. The control panel can be firmly connected to the appliance body, for example screwed, or it can be connected to it elastically, for example with the help of springs or an elastic material. The appliance body can be a housing of the household appliance.

Other possible implementations of the control panel and/or the household appliance also include combinations of features or embodiments described above or below with regard to the exemplary embodiments that are not explicitly mentioned. The person skilled in the art will also add individual aspects as improvements or additions to the respective basic form of the control panel and/or the household appliance.

In the Fig.2 Hidden components are shown in dashed lines. The Fig.3 shows a schematic sectional view of the control panel 12 according to the interface III-III of the Fig.2 . The following refers to the Fig.2 and 3 referred to at the same time.

The control panel 12 is in particular a touchscreen or includes a touchscreen. The term "touchscreen" can also be replaced by the terms "touch screen", "touch screen" or "sensor screen". In this case, a "touchscreen" is understood to mean a combined input and output device in which the program sequence of a technical device can be directly controlled by touching parts of an image. An entire control panel 15 of the control panel 12 can be a touchscreen or selected areas, so-called "buttons" or "touch buttons" of the control panel 15 can be designed as a touchscreen.

To operate the control panel 12, a user can touch the control panel 15 and, if necessary, apply pressure to it. The control panel 15 can, for example, be a glass pane with a wall thickness of approximately 1.5 mm. The control panel 12 also comprises a panel carrier 16 that supports the control panel 15. For example, the control panel 15 is glued to the panel carrier 16. The panel carrier 16 is provided on the back of the control panel 15. The panel carrier 16 can, for example, be a sheet steel. The panel carrier 16 comprises an opening or a recess 17. The recess 17 can, for example, have a rectangular geometry. The panel carrier 16 can be firmly connected to the device body 14, for example screwed to it.

An input and output device 18 is accommodated in the recess 17. The input and output device 18 can be a display, in particular a touch display. With the help of the input and output device 18, for example, an operating state of the household appliance 1 can be displayed or output. At the same time, the input and output device 18 is also suitable for detecting an input, for example a program selection, from a user on the household appliance 1. For example, the input and output device 18 can detect a touch of the operating front 15. The input and output device 18 can be glued to the operating front 15. In particular, the input and output device 18 is provided on the back of the operating front 15. The input and output device 18 can be a sensory operator detection device or can be referred to as such.

Furthermore, a haptic actuator 19 is accommodated in the recess 17. The haptic actuator 19 is positioned next to the input and output device 18. The haptic actuator 19 is in particular through the recess 17 of the panel carrier 16 to the operating front 15. The haptic actuator 19 is firmly connected to the operating front 15. For example, the haptic actuator 19 can be glued to the operating front 15. In particular, the haptic actuator 19 is glued to the back of the operating front 15. The haptic actuator 19 can also be referred to as a haptic actuating element or touch feedback element.

The haptic actuator 19 can be a cylindrical component. With the help of the haptic actuator 19, it is possible to output a haptic signal, for example in the form of vibrations, to the user via the control panel 15, so that the user receives feedback on an input made by the user to the input and output device 18. The haptic actuator 19 is preferably a structure-borne sound transducer (English: exciter) or can be referred to as such. A "structure-borne sound transducer" is an electrodynamic loudspeaker without a membrane. This means that a voice coil of the haptic actuator 19 does not drive a loudspeaker membrane, but is directly connected to the control panel 15. The control panel 15 can be set into vibration according to the haptic signal.

The haptic actuator 19 and the input and output device 18 are coupled to a control unit 20. The control unit 20 detects, for example, a touch of the operating front 15 with the aid of the input and output device 18. The control unit 20 can also control the haptic actuator 19. With the aid of the control unit 20, a haptic and/or acoustic signal, in particular a feedback signal, is sent to the user by means of a corresponding control of the haptic actuator 19. The haptic signal can be a vibration of the operating front 15.

The acoustic signal can be a clicking sound, for example. The acoustic signal should simulate the operating sound of a mechanical switch as best as possible, in particular through a selected clicking sound. In conjunction with the haptic feedback, this results in a pleasant tactile feeling when operating the control panel 12. The acoustic signal can either be superimposed on the haptic signal of the haptic actuator 19 or emitted using a separate acoustic signal generator 21. The acoustic signal generator 21 is also coupled to the control unit 20. The acoustic signal generator 21 can be a loudspeaker.

The input and output device 18 is, as previously mentioned, firmly connected to the control panel 15. For example, the input and output device 18 is glued to the control panel 15. The control panel 12 is firmly connected to the device body 14. The entire control panel 12 is thus stimulated haptically when it is operated.

The control panel 12 can also be designed to swing. In this case, it is not firmly connected to the device body 14, but is coupled to it or suspended in it by means of elastic components. Mechanical springs or rubber-like materials, for example, are used as elastic components. The haptic actuator 19 can thus more easily cause the elastically suspended control panel 12 to vibrate mechanically, which enables improved haptic feedback from the haptic actuator 19.

The Fig.4 shows a schematic front view of another embodiment of a control panel 12. Also in the Fig.4 Hidden components are shown in dashed lines. The Fig.5 shows a schematic sectional view of the control panel 12 according to the section line VV of the Fig.4 . The following refers to the Fig.4 and 5 referred to at the same time.

In addition to the previously mentioned operating front 15 and the panel carrier 16, the control panel 12 comprises an intermediate element 22. The panel carrier 16 comprises a recess 17 as previously explained. The intermediate element 22 is arranged between the operating front 15 and the panel carrier 16. The intermediate element 22 is preferably glued to the operating front 15 and to the panel carrier 16. The intermediate element 22 is preferably made of a plastic material. In particular, the intermediate element 22 can be made of polymethyl methacrylate (PMMA). The intermediate element 22 comprises a recess 23 in which an input and output device 18 as previously explained is accommodated. The input and output device 18 can be glued to the operating front 15.

Furthermore, the intermediate element 22 comprises openings or recesses 24 to 27 in which haptic actuators 19 are accommodated as previously explained. This means that several haptic actuators 19 are provided. For example, four such haptic actuators 19 can be provided, which are arranged through the panel carrier 16 and the intermediate element 22. The haptic actuators 19 are coupled to a control unit 20 as previously explained. Furthermore, an optional acoustic signal generator 21 is also operatively connected to the control unit 20. The intermediate element 22 further comprises through-bridges or recesses 28 to 30, with the aid of which a wave propagation of a structure-borne sound generated with the aid of the haptic actuators 19 can be influenced. The number and shape of the recesses 28 to 30 is arbitrary. The recesses 28 to 30 penetrate the intermediate element 22 completely or only partially.

In order to achieve a noticeable haptic effect or optimal sound transmission for acoustic signals when the control panel 12 is operated, it is necessary that the control panel 12 can be set into vibration and can therefore vibrate as freely as possible. The more rigid connections are provided between the control panel 15 and the panel carrier 16, the less capable of vibrating the system is. Therefore, a certain area on the control panel 15 must be kept free of rigid connections. This is done, for example, with the help of the recesses 28 to 30. The size and shape of these recesses depends on the size of the area in which haptic operating feedback is to take place. The minimum size of this recess is determined by the size of the input and output device 18, which is arranged on the back of the control panel 15. If a certain mechanical stabilization of the panel carrier 16 cannot be dispensed with at this point, the connection must be designed in such a way that the haptic effect or the structure-borne sound waves can still spread.

The transfer of the haptics to the control panel 15 is highly dependent on the mechanical and geometric structure of the control panel 12. This structure determines an adjustment or reduction of the power of the haptic actuator 19 and/or the signal duration of the haptic signal, depending on the desired strength of the haptic feedback. The position of the haptic actuator 19 on the control panel 15 depends on whether only individual areas of the same or the entire control panel 15 is to be equipped with the haptic feedback.

When equipping individual operating areas or touch buttons with haptics, the haptic actuator 19 can be mounted on the back of the operating panel 15, directly at the position of the touch button or immediately to the left or right of the touch button. The haptics should only be perceived locally at the location of the touch button. Surrounding areas of the touch button are only weakly stimulated by the haptic signal and are not perceived as haptic feedback. This can be achieved by applying a material that absorbs structure-borne sound to the control panel 12 and leaving space at the positions of the point haptics. This can be the plastic material of the intermediate element 22, for example. Alternatively, a corresponding haptic actuator 19 with lower power can be used.

In order to make the haptics on the control panel 15 even more noticeable locally, the control panel 12 can be made mechanically thinner at these points, in particular by means of recesses on the back of the control panel 15. The recess in the control panel 15 can be made at the point where the haptic actuator 19 is arranged. In this case, the haptic actuator 19 is located in a recess. This recess makes the control panel 15 thinner at this point, which makes it easier to stimulate the control panel 15 by the haptic actuator 19. Alternatively, the area in which the haptics are to be perceived can be recessed. The thinner control panel 15 makes the haptics more noticeable without changing the strength of the haptics. The position of the haptic actuator 19 and the recess can be selected independently of one another. If larger areas are to be equipped with haptic feedback, as described with reference to the Fig.4 and 5 explains the provision of several haptic actuators 19, which are to be arranged to the left and/or right of the input and output device 18.

In order to avoid milling on the control panel 15 itself, which is very difficult and very expensive to produce, the three-part structure explained above with the intermediate element 22 of the control panel 15 and the panel carrier 16 is provided. The intermediate element 22 can be optimized with regard to the sensitivity of the touch buttons and the desired strength of the haptic feedback. The intermediate element 22 preferably has a wall thickness of about 3 mm. The recesses 23 to 27 are provided for the input and output device 18 and the haptic actuators 19. The recesses 28 to 30 are provided to optimize the vibration of the control panel 12. The control panel 15, which is preferably designed as a glass plate, preferably has a wall thickness of about 1.5 mm, as already mentioned. mm. Due to the thin material of the operating front 15, a simpler and better functioning touch and haptic implementation results.

Asymmetries in the structure of the control panel 12, i.e. different haptic strengths on the control front 15, can be compensated by changing the haptic duration and the performance of the haptic actuator 19. In particular, these can also be compensated by changing the haptic actuators 19 themselves if no changes are to be made to the performance of the haptic actuator 19 or the haptic duration. This can be necessary, for example, due to disruptive acoustic effects. The position of the haptic actuator 19 or the haptic actuators 19 on the control front 15 must be selected such that the reflection vibrations that arise at the edges of the control panel 12 overlap as much as possible with the excitation vibration of the haptic actuator 19 at the input and output device 18.

Each previously mentioned embodiment of the control panel 12 experiences a maximum vibration excitation by the haptic actuator 19 in a certain frequency range. This is determined by the resonance frequency of the control panel 12 and depends on the two storage elements, mass and internal spring of the materials used. The internal damping of the materials of the entire control panel 12 system determines the quality of the vibration system and thus the amplitude of the mechanical vibration and the width of the frequency range. In the range of the resonance frequency, the power can be greatly reduced depending on the quality of the resonance. The stronger the resonance vibration, the lower the power of the haptic actuator 19 can be selected, but the narrower the frequency range becomes. By selecting or varying the frequency of the haptic actuator 19 accordingly, the haptic function can be optimized with regard to manufacturing tolerances of all components and the best possible vibration generation.

The sound transmission decoupling from the surrounding device body 14 with regard to its cavity resonances and resonating materials must also be solved structurally. This can be achieved, for example, by the targeted attachment of heavy adsorber materials, which dampens disturbing structure-borne sound resonances. In addition to the structural design of the control panel 12 to optimize the operating feel It may therefore also be necessary to acoustically decouple the connection between the device body 14 and the control panel 12.

The vibrations of the haptic actuator 19 cause the control panel 12 to vibrate. These vibrations are also transmitted to the surrounding materials and can be perceived as disturbing noise. To prevent this, the number of connections, for example screw connections, between the device body 14 and the control panel 12 can be reduced. Alternatively, the existing connections can be decoupled from structure-borne noise using elastic suspensions. Connecting materials with high internal damping can also reduce the disturbing structure-borne noise in this case.

The control panel 12 explained above has a number of advantages. On the one hand, it creates the possibility of equipping a rigid control panel 12 with a haptic element. The performance of the haptic actuator 19 can be reduced by the three-layer design of the control panel 12 described above. The haptic touch perception can be improved by the described design influencing of the control panel 12. This results in the possibility of selective haptics on a rigid control panel 12 with the help of several haptic actuators 19 with reduced performance. Although the present invention has been described using exemplary embodiments, it can be modified in many ways within the scope of the claims.
