Definitions

  • the invention relates to a piece of seating furniture with a back part in which a lumbar support device with an electromotive linear drive is arranged, according to the preamble of claim 1.
  • Lumbar support devices are known from seating furniture, for example chairs, especially office chairs and armchairs. Lumbar support devices are intended to support the natural curvature of the lumbar spine of a user of the seating furniture towards the abdomen. In addition to static lumbar support devices, which are incorporated into the backrest of the seating furniture in the form of corresponding curvatures, adjustable lumbar support devices are known, the support effect of which can be adjusted by extending a support element more or less far towards the user's back.
  • Electric motor-operated lumbar supports are particularly common in larger pieces of furniture with correspondingly more voluminous upholstery, i.e. armchairs in particular.
  • a known embodiment of such an electric motor-operated lumbar support device uses a horizontally transverse profile rail behind the back upholstery, on which two sliding elements are guided so that they can move towards and away from each other.
  • the sliding elements are connected to a V-shaped lever mechanism in such a way that when the sliding elements move towards each other, one tip of the V-shaped lever mechanism moves in the direction of the back upholstery.
  • At this tip of the V-shaped lever mechanism is a flat support element that acts as a lumbar support element via the upholstery.
  • an electric motor drive specifically a linear drive
  • This additional lever mechanism uses, among other things, a lever on both sides to enable movement in different directions, ie towards or away from each other.
  • a spindle-driven scissor lift is used to operate the V-shaped lever mechanism that is connected to the support element. In both cases, the use of two coupled lever mechanisms results in a complex and therefore not service-friendly and not very compact structure.
  • a vehicle seat with a lumbar support device with a linear drive in which the linear drive has a guide profile on which two sliding blocks, each with a spindle nut coupled by at least one spindle, can be moved synchronously towards or away from each other, wherein the spindle has two sections, one of which is provided with a left-hand thread and the other with a right-hand thread. Each section is assigned one of the sliding blocks, wherein a bracket is pivoted as a lumbar support in the back section by the sliding blocks.
  • the guide profile is arranged on a mounting plate which is screwed into a seat frame or can itself be vertically adjusted in height by another linear adjustment.
  • the lumbar support device is thus compactly integrated into the back section, but it is difficult to access for assembly and for service or repair purposes.
  • the lumbar support device has an electromotive linear drive which is coupled to an extendable support element via a lever mechanism, wherein the linear drive is a Has a guide profile on which two sliding blocks, each with a spindle nut coupled by at least one spindle, can be moved synchronously towards or away from each other, wherein the spindle has two sections, one of which is provided with a left-hand thread and the other with a right-hand thread, and each section is assigned one of the sliding blocks, and wherein the sliding blocks are each connected to the support element via at least one lever.
  • the linear drive has a motor and gear unit for driving the spindle, wherein the guide profile is fastened to the motor and gear unit with an end section.
  • the back part has two side cheeks, between which the linear drive of the lumbar support device is arranged.
  • the seating furniture is characterized in that a motor-side fastening element is mounted on one of the side cheeks, to which the linear drive is pivotably fastened with a motor-side fastening fork head, and that a guide profile-side fastening element is mounted on the other of the side cheeks, into which the linear drive can be pivoted and fastened with an end section of its guide profile.
  • FIG. 1a and 1b an isometric view of a back part 1 of an otherwise not further shown armchair is shown as an example of a piece of seating furniture.
  • the side of the back part 1 facing the viewer in the figures is the rear side pointing away from the seat surface not shown here.
  • Side of the seating furniture It is usually covered with a stretched cloth or a similar upholstery material.
  • the backrest 1 has a frame 2 which includes two side panels 3.
  • the side panels 3 allow the user to Fig. 1a and 1b
  • the frame 2 defines a cushion surface level 4. On this level, possibly supported by transverse support elements, a padding layer of the back part.
  • a lumbar support device 10 In the lower area of the frame 2 and thus also in the lower area of the cushion surface level 4, a lumbar support device 10 according to the application is installed.
  • This comprises a linear drive 11, which in turn has a motor and gear unit 111 and a guide profile 112 attached to it.
  • the lumbar support device 10 is mounted on the side of the motor and gear unit 111 in a motor-side fastening element 15 on one of the side cheeks 3 and on the opposite side with the end of its guide profile 112 in a guide profile-side fastening element 16 on the opposite side cheek 3.
  • the guide profile 112 is a square profile onto which two sliding blocks 113, 114 with corresponding openings are placed, which can be moved horizontally on the guide profile 112.
  • the guide profile 112 is open on one side, for example downwards or forwards (i.e. in the direction of the seat of the chair), with a respective section of the sliding blocks 113, 114 protruding into the interior of the guide profile 112.
  • a spindle rotatably driven by the motor and gear unit 111 is arranged along essentially the entire length of the guide profile 112.
  • the spindle engages in spindle nuts which are connected in a rotationally fixed manner to the sliding blocks 113, 114 or are formed integrally with these sliding blocks 113, 114.
  • the spindle has two thread sections that are provided with differently oriented threads, ie with a left-hand thread in a first spindle section and a right-hand thread in a second spindle section.
  • the spindle sections each correspond to the range of movement of the sliding blocks 113, 114, whose spindle nut is also designed with a left-hand or right-hand thread.
  • the sliding blocks 113, 114 move towards or away from each other when the spindle rotates. Due to the same thread pitch in the two spindle sections mentioned, this movement takes place synchronously, as in connection with the Fig. 2a and 2b is explained in more detail.
  • the lumbar support device 10 further comprises a lever mechanism 12, via which the sliding blocks 113, 114 act on a common axis 13.
  • Two levers are arranged between the respective sliding block 113, 114 and the axis 13, one on the top and one on the bottom of the sliding blocks 113, 114. This creates a triangular arrangement between the sliding blocks 113, 114 and the axis 13.
  • a support element 14 is attached to the axis 13, which rests with a support surface on the upholstery of the back part (not shown here) and which is moved in the direction of the upholstery layer or into the upholstery layer according to the movement of the sliding blocks 113, 114.
  • Fig. 2a and 2b is the lumbar support device 10, which is provided in the armchair according to Fig. 1a and 1b is used, shown in more detail and separately from the back part 1 in a top view.
  • the support element 14 of the lumbar support device 10 is inserted and in Fig. 2b essentially extended to its maximum.
  • the comparison of the two figures shows the synchronous movement of the sliding blocks 113, 114 towards and away from each other.
  • the two upper levers 121, 122 of the lever mechanism 12 are shown separately, which connect the respective sliding block 113, 114 with the axis 13.
  • the levers 121, 122 are pivotably mounted on the sliding blocks 113, 114 in pivot bearings 123, 124.
  • the lower levers move congruently with the upper levers 121, 122 shown and are therefore shown in the illustration of the Fig. 2a and 2b not visible. Due to the synchronous movement of the sliding blocks 113, 114, the axis 13 moves along a line that runs perpendicular to the guide profile 112.
  • the motor and gear unit 111 is arranged on one side of the guide profile 112.
  • One of the sliding blocks 113, 114 is guided on each of the sections.
  • a first spindle (or a first spindle section) then protrudes from the motor and gear unit 111. with a left-hand thread in one and a second spindle (or a second spindle section) with a right-hand thread in the other guide profile section.
  • the motor and gear unit 111 can have an electric motor with a worm, wherein a worm wheel arranged on the spindle(s) is driven by the motor via said worm.
  • the Fig. 1a , b and 2a, b The lumbar support device 10 shown does not require any other levers or devices other than the levers 121, 122 of the lever mechanism 12 to synchronize the movement of the sliders 113, 114. Accordingly, a compact structure is achieved. The fact that there are no other moving elements also reduces the risk of objects being trapped or crushed by the Fig. 1a and 1b invisible cover of the back part 1 could be pressed into the area of the lumbar support device 10.
  • the illustrated lumbar support device 10 can also be very easily integrated into the frame 2 according to the Fig. 1a and 1b
