Definitions
- the invention relates to a cover equipped with an insert. Finally, the invention further relates to the bottle of associated fluid product.
- the fluid product is a cosmetic product, more particularly a perfume, an eau de toilette or even a fragrance.
- Caps for cosmetic product bottles are perceived by users as elements of appreciation of the market value of the product so that a cap of a certain weight will be associated with a perceived value. Attempts have therefore been made to make the caps of the bottles of luxury products heavier in order to satisfy the requirements of the users with regard to the perceived value of said product.
- a cover comprising a hollow body, an insert on which the hollow body is able to bear and a ballast configured to be housed between the hollow body and the insert.
- the ballast is made of a reinforced plastic material which gives it a certain weight. That said, the time for injecting the plastic material into the cavity of the manufacturing mold is relatively long and the product obtained is not heavy enough, making this solution expensive and limited in terms of value perceived by the user.
- thick plastic parts often have visible defects on the surface, in this case shrink marks, linked to the difficulty of filling the mold cavity.
- a good surface finish is necessary to satisfy users, including for parts hidden from view.
- an alternative solution consists in inserting a ballast made of a high density material, such as steel or Zamak between the cover body and the insert. Nevertheless, it is simply inconceivable that such a ballast occupies the entire volume between the cover and the insert: on the one hand the cover would be too heavy and on the other hand the cost of the material of the ballast would drastically increase the cost of the cover. Also, the solution generally adopted is the integration of an annular ballast between the insert and the cover. This solution solves the problems mentioned above: the cover has the right weight (neither too light nor too heavy) leading the user to "perceive a value", it has an acceptable cost price and the ballast does not does not slow down the production cycle.
- the insert comprises a platform having a central axis and serving as a base for a cylindrical skirt extending along said central axis from the platform.
- the skirt for its part, serves as a support for the means for filling the empty volume.
- the invention relates to a cover intended for closing a bottle for dispensing a fluid product, said cover comprising a hollow body, said hollow body being fitted with an insert as described above.
- Said hollow body is also equipped with a ballast inserted between the chimney and the skirt of the insert.
- the invention relates to a bottle for dispensing a fluid product equipped with a cap as described above.
- the bottle comprises a reservoir, a system for dispensing the fluid product in conjunction with the reservoir (not shown) and the cap.
- the fluid product is a cosmetic product, more particularly a perfume, an eau de toilette, or a fragrance.
- the fluid product is contained in the tank.
- the reservoir comprises at its upper part a rigid neck defining an opening into which the fluid distribution system is inserted.
- the dispensing system comprises fastening and sealing means which make it possible to maintain it permanently at neck level, to isolate the reservoir from the external environment and to preserve all the properties of the fluid product.
- the dispensing system further comprises a pump which can be actuated by a user by means of a push button, which makes it possible to vaporize a dose of the fluid product in the form of a spray.
- the reservoir and the cover are the only two parts visible from the outside by a user. They must therefore present aesthetics and weight associated with the value of the product to be distributed, while reflecting the universe of the product.
- the cover is illustrated in an exploded view so that its various elements can be identified.
- the cover comprises a hollow body 1, an insert 10 and a ballast 25.
- the ballast 25 is inserted into a housing provided for this purpose in the insert 10, then the insert 10 and ballast 25 assembly is mounted inside the hollow body 1.
- the hollow body 1 When the cover is assembled, the hollow body 1 hides the insert 10 and the ballast 25.
- the hollow body 1 represents the outer envelope of the cover and is therefore immediately visible to the user. It extends in the three dimensions of space and comprises an empty interior volume serving to accommodate the insert 10. In the present case, it has a square shape with softened edges. That said, the shape and the external appearance of the hollow body 1 does not relate to the invention strictly speaking.
- the insert 10 occupies an appropriate surface within the hollow body 1, that is to say that it is entirely included in the said hollow body 1 so that the said insert 10 is masked by the said hollow body 1 once the hood was assembled, as previously mentioned.
- the insert 10 comprises a platform 11 having a central axis X and comprising an upper face 12.
- the platform 11 is substantially planar, as is its upper face 12.
- it comprises a lower face (not visible), and a peripheral edge 14 oriented perpendicularly to the upper 12 and lower faces.
- the upper face 12 is delimited by a peripheral edge 13.
- This peripheral edge 13 coincides with a line of delimitation between the upper face 12 and the peripheral edge 14.
- This peripheral edge 13 has a profile corresponding to that of the hollow body. It therefore advantageously matches the contours of the hollow body 1. This is particularly practical for facilitating the insertion and fixing of the insert 10 within the hollow body 1.
- the lower face (not shown) is the face visible to the user. .
- the insert 10 preferably comprises means 15 for latching the hollow body 1 onto said insert 10.
- These latching means 15 are located at the level of the peripheral side edge 14. They consist of protuberances adapted to come into taken in the groove provided for this purpose inside the hollow body 1. The protuberances and the grooves can be reversed on the parts. It is preferable that these snap-fastening means be in sufficient number and distributed in an appropriate manner over the entire perimeter of the lateral edge 14 in order to guarantee permanent fixing of the insert 10 in the hollow body 1. This being so, one could provide other fixing means known to those skilled in the art of the insert 10 in the hollow body 1.
- the insert 10 also comprises a cylindrical skirt 16 extending along the central axis X from the platform 11.
- the skirt 16 extends from the upper face 12 of the platform 11, in this case orthogonally from said upper face 12.
- the skirt has an outer surface. It has a grip on the platform corresponding to a circle. Everything else on Platform 11 is bare. The idea is to fill the entire volume of the insert 10 located around the skirt 16 and whose platform 11 is bare.
- the insert 10 therefore comprises an empty volume 17 defined by a base corresponding to a surface of the upper face 12 comprised between on the one hand the peripheral periphery 13 and on the other hand a joint between the platform 11 and the surface exterior of the skirt 16, and a height corresponding to the height of the skirt 16.
- base and āheightā should be understood here according to their mathematical meaning, in particular geometric.
- the empty volume 17 is delimited by the skirt 16, the platform 11, virtual side walls extending from the entire peripheral periphery 13 of the platform 11 in a direction parallel to the axis X and over the entire height of the skirt 16, and a virtual top wall covering the skirt 16 and the virtual side walls, and being identical to the platform 11.
- the insert 10 further comprises means 18, 18', 19 for filling the empty volume 17. It follows that when said insert 10 is inserted into the hollow body 1, the empty volume left within the hollow body is substantially occupied by said insert. This significantly reduces the resonant noise that could be heard if a user were to tap on the cover. And for good reason, not only do the filling means 18, 18', 19 obstruct the sound waves but they also absorb said sound waves, which thus produces a "muffled" noise, which is more pleasant, rather than the resonant noise which would have been heard in their absence in such a situation.
- the filling means 18, 18', 19 consist of a plurality of ribs 18, 18' extending from the outer surface of said skirt 16 and sweeping the entire volume 17, filling it discontinuously.
- Said filling means 18, 18', 19 also consist of two parallel walls 19 diametrically opposed.
- the parallel walls 19 extend radially from the outer surface of the skirt 16 along a plane passing through the axis X.
- Said plane (located at the level of the cutting plane A-A) is a plane of symmetry of the insert 10.
- the the insert 10 has substantially the same configuration on each side of this plane.
- ribs 18 also extend from said parallel walls 19. Indeed, the parallel walls 19 make it possible to preserve the alignment of the ribs 18, 18' over the entire width of the insert 10, whatever the diameter of the skirt 16.
- the ribs 18, 18' are in the form of projections whose depth relative to the outer surface of the skirt 16 and the parallel walls 19 varies. They may be substantially parallel to each other.
- the depth of a rib 18, 18' is understood here as the distance which separates a connecting edge of said rib with said external surface of said skirt 16 or said parallel walls 19 and, a free edge of said rib directed towards the 'exterior of the insert 10.
- the ribs 18, 18' have an appropriate depth within the volume 17, that is to say they follow the limits of said volume 17.
- the ribs 18 extending from the ends of the parallel walls 19 are very short, while those extending from the same walls 19 but which are closer to the skirt 16 are longer. What matters here is that the ribs 18, 18' do not overflow beyond the limit set by the peripheral perimeter 13.
- the ribs 18, 18' are oriented perpendicular to the plane of symmetry passing through the walls 19.
- the ribs 18, 18' extend from the skirt 16 and/or the parallel walls 19 , preferably substantially perpendicular to the upper face 12, that is to say in planes orthogonal to said upper face 12. They are parallel to each other.
- the orientation of the ribs 18, 18' is not limiting because it results from the manufacturing process of the insert 10.
- the insert 10 is made of molded plastic material. In this case, it is molded using a mold comprising two drawers, each being associated with one of the faces of the insert located on each side of the plane of symmetry.
- the orientation of the ribs 18, 18' could have been different.
- the ribs 18, 18' could have extended from the skirt 16 in four different directions over four quarter circles, and the ribs could have extended over the entire width of the insert 10, the walls parallels 19 then not being necessary.
- the orientation of the ribs 18, 18 'in itself has no effect on the acoustics of the insert 10.
- the ribs 18, 18' are preferably regularly spaced apart around the skirt 16 and along the parallel walls 19. In other words, they can be separated by a constant distance d 1 . That said, it is not mandatory that the distance d 1 be constant, but this is convenient in terms of manufacturing. In addition, this makes it possible to obtain a cover having homogeneous acoustics whatever the zone.
- the ribs 18, 18' are, two by two, separated by a distance d 1 of between 2 and 4 mm.
- the smaller the distance d 1 the more obstacles there are to the propagation of the sound waves and the more the resonant waves will be attenuated in the event of tapping on the cover, at constant rib thickness. That said, this distance must be at least 2 mm.
- the space between the fins corresponds to the material of the mold and this material must have a thickness of at least 2 mm to be machinable with the required quality.
- the distance between the fins must not be less than 2 mm.
- d 1 represents a compromise between an economic logic, associated with the cost of the material, and a logic linked to the acoustic rendering of the finished product.
- the ribs 18, 18' have a thickness of between 1 and 3 mm, preferably between 1.5 and 2.5 mm.
- the greater the thickness of the ribs 18, 18' the more material there is available capable of absorbing the sound waves and therefore the more the resonant waves will be attenuated in the event of tapping on the cover, at a constant distance d 1 .
- the thickness is too low, that is to say less than 1 mm, filling the mold at the location of the ribs 18, 18' can prove difficult.
- fins that are too thick would induce an increase in the cycle time.
- the range of thicknesses therefore represents a compromise between manufacturing constraints and the final rendering of the product in terms of acoustics.
- the ribs 18, 18' extend substantially, and preferably, over the entire height of the skirt 16. Obviously, the greater the height of the ribs 18, 18', the greater the filling rate of the volume 17 is important, and therefore the more the resonant waves will be attenuated in the event of tapping on the bonnet.
- the filling means 18, 18' and 19 occupy a large part of the empty volume 17.
- the degree of filling of the empty volume 17 by the filling means 18, 18', 19 is preferably between 10% and 80% and more preferably between 20% and 40%.
- the filling means 18, 18', 19 are evenly and regularly distributed within the empty volume 17, so as to balance the weight of the insert 10.
- the filling means 18, 18', 19 extend amply in three dimensions within the empty volume 17 so as to come as close as possible to the virtual limits defining the empty volume 17. They are therefore set back slightly with respect to the limits virtual. There is no interference with cover 1 when positioned on insert 10.
- Each rib 18, 18' and each wall 19 therefore has a dimension which has a height almost equivalent to that of the skirt 16, and a depth almost equivalent to that separating the skirt 16 from the peripheral periphery 13. In this way, the edges of the ribs 18,18' and walls 19 are proximal to the walls of cover 1 when it is placed on insert 10.
- the filling means 18, 18' and 19 are therefore structurally very different from known assembly means such as helical, circumferential, etc. ribs. constituting the thread of the cylindrical portions of the tank necks on which are fixed a pump element, a plug or any other closing element of a tank.
- these ribs although extending projecting from a cylindrical portion, have a small extension in depth and along a longitudinal axis of the cylindrical portion. They are therefore not comparable to the filling means 18, 18' and 19 of the invention. They are even less so on the functional level since if the filling means 18, 18' and 19 of the invention make it possible to absorb and block the sound waves coming from the cover when the user knocks on the cover. with the finger because of their aforementioned geometry, the ribs of the prior art do not allow this because they are located too far from the walls of the cover.
- the ribs 18, 18' it is preferable for the ribs 18, 18' to be separated from the platform 11 by a distance d 2 .
- This distance d 2 makes it possible to avoid generating shrink marks, that is to say aesthetic defects, on the lower face (not shown) of the platform 11 during the removal from the mold of the insert 10.
- the face lower of the platform 11 is the face visible to the user and must therefore have an aesthetic reflecting the value of the product contained in the bottle.
- the distance d 2 is between 2 and 7 mm, preferably between 4 and 6 mm.
- this distance should not be too high so as not to lose the benefit provided by the filling of the volume 17 by the ribs 18, 18'.
- the parallel walls 19 are connected to the platform 11 via sections 19a.
- the sections 19a are thinned with respect to the parallel walls 19, that is to say they have a smaller thickness than that of the parallel walls. This thinning makes it possible to avoid the creation of shrink marks on the underside of the platform, during the molding of the insert 10. More precisely, it is essential to respect a certain ratio between the thickness of the thinned section 19a and the thickness of the platform 11 in order to obtain a totally smooth surface on the underside of the platform 11, especially since the latter will be visible to the user.
- the insert 10 comprises a cylindrical chimney 20, but not necessarily, extending from the platform 11 and having a central housing capable of receiving a pump (not shown).
- the housing is, of course, formed with a central opening to allow the insertion of said pump.
- the chimney 20 is closed at an upper free end.
- the chimney 20 comprises at least one notch 21 made in an inner surface of its wall.
- the notch 21 advantageously makes it possible to fix said pump to the wall of the chimney 20.
- the chimney 20 extends substantially over the entire height of the skirt 16. In other words, it has substantially the same height as said skirt 16. However, this is not mandatory.
- the skirt 16 it preferably extends coaxially around said stack 20.
- a space 22 separates said skirt 16 from said stack 20.
- This space 22 is configured to accommodate a ballast 25.
- the ballast 25 does not is not part of insert 10. It is an element of the cover. When the cover is assembled, the ballast 25 is housed between the chimney 20 and the skirt 16 of the insert, then the assembly is inserted inside the hollow body 1.
- the ballast 25 is made of a high density material. This makes it possible to weigh down the cover once it is assembled. Indeed, and as mentioned previously, the user associates the perceived value of the product contained in the bottle with the weight of the cap.
- the ballast 25 is therefore particularly suitable for achieving this goal.
- the ballast 25 can be made of steel or Zamak.
- a cover according to the invention is illustrated according to a variant of the invention.
- the cover comprises an insert 10 and a ballast 25.
- This cover is similar to the cover seen above and differs essentially only in its general shape. It also differs in its 20 chimney which we will discuss in the next sections.
- the hollow body 1 is cylindrical. It comprises an empty interior volume in which the insert 10 and the ballast 25 can be inserted.
- the insert 10 comprises a platform 11 comprising an upper face 12 delimited by a peripheral periphery 13 and having a central axis X, and a cylindrical skirt 16 extending along the central axis X from said platform.
- the peripheral periphery 13 has a shape matching the periphery of the hollow body 1.
- the insert 10 also has filling means 18, 18', 19 of the empty volume 17 defined by a base corresponding to a surface of the upper face 12 between on the one hand the peripheral periphery 13 and on the other hand a joint between the platform 11 and the skirt 16, and a height corresponding to the height of the skirt 16.
- An inner periphery of this volume 17 is therefore shaped on the cover, which makes it possible to significantly reduce the resonant waves within said cover.
- the filling means 18, 18', 19 consist of ribs 18, 18'.
- These ribs 18, 18' have all the attributes of the ribs seen previously. This being so, it goes without saying, in the configuration illustrated here, that they can be differentiated from the previous ones by their depth, their thickness, their number, etc. In this example, they are thicker and more limited in number. In addition, they are generally less deep. Indeed, here the depth of the ribs 18, that is to say the distance separating their connecting edge with the outer surface of said skirt 16 and their free edge, varies little in order to best lend itself to the shape of the volume. empty 17.
- the filling means 18, 18', 19 also consist of parallel walls 19, similar to those seen above. That said, one can notice at the figure 6 that they have a lower extension in the longitudinal section plane (BB). Due to this shallow depth, only one of said ribs 18 extends from each face of each of said parallel walls 19. It is clearly understood here that this simply results from the general shape of the insert 10. It can also be noted that the parallel walls 19 are thicker which allows, for the wall 19 visible at the figure 5 , to see its delimitation with the thinned section 19a.
- the ribs 18' located at 90° from said parallel walls 19 are also attached to the platform 11 via a thinned section 18a.
- This thinned section 18a has a lower thickness than that of the rib 18' to which it is attached.
- the thinned section 18a makes it possible to improve the robustness of the insert 10 while retaining flexibility like the section 19a.
- the insert 10 comprises, here again, a cylindrical chimney 20 extending from the platform 11 and having a central housing capable of receiving a pump (not shown). As can best be seen at the figure 6 , the housing is formed with a central opening to allow the insertion of said pump. Unlike the previous configuration, the chimney 20 is left open at its upper free end. Unlike the previous configuration, the chimney 20 is left open at its upper free end.
- the chimney 20 is separated from the skirt 16 by a space sufficient to accommodate a ballast 25.
- the latter has the same properties as those seen above. That said, its diameter and/or its height can vary significantly.

Caps for cosmetic product bottles are perceived by users as elements of appreciation of the market value of the product so that a cap of a certain weight will be associated with a perceived value. Attempts have therefore been made to make the caps of the bottles of luxury products heavier in order to satisfy the requirements of the users with regard to the perceived value of said product.
A cover has been proposed comprising a hollow body, an insert on which the hollow body is able to bear and a ballast configured to be housed between the hollow body and the insert. In this type of cover, the ballast is made of a reinforced plastic material which gives it a certain weight. That said, the time for injecting the plastic material into the cavity of the manufacturing mold is relatively long and the product obtained is not heavy enough, making this solution expensive and limited in terms of value perceived by the user. On the other hand, thick plastic parts often have visible defects on the surface, in this case shrink marks, linked to the difficulty of filling the mold cavity. However, a good surface finish is necessary to satisfy users, including for parts hidden from view.

Also, an alternative solution consists in inserting a ballast made of a high density material, such as steel or Zamak between the cover body and the insert.
This volume is certainly not visible but it is indirectly perceptible by the user because the cap āsounds hollowā when she hits it with her finger. The āperception of valueā is thus depreciated.
- une plateforme comprenant une face supƩrieure dƩlimitƩe par un pourtour pƩriphƩrique et prƩsentant un axe central ;
- une jupe s'Ʃtendant selon l'axe central depuis la plateforme et prƩsentant une surface externe ;
- une hauteur correspondant Ć la hauteur de la jupe ;
- a platform comprising an upper face delimited by a peripheral periphery and having a central axis;
- a skirt extending along the central axis from the platform and having an outer surface;
- an empty volume defined by:
- a base corresponding to a surface of the upper face between, on the one hand, the peripheral periphery and, on the other hand, a joint between the platform and the outer surface of the skirt, and
- a height corresponding to the height of the skirt;
There is thus a cover comprising an insert which, once inserted within the hollow body, makes it possible to fill the empty volume left within said hollow body. Indeed, the insert comprises a platform having a central axis and serving as a base for a cylindrical skirt extending along said central axis from the platform. The skirt, for its part, serves as a support for the means for filling the empty volume. These means fillers make it possible to absorb and block the sound waves coming from the cover when the user strikes the cover with the finger, which makes it possible to significantly reduce the "hollow sound" which occurs in the absence of said fillings means filling. They thus produce a āmuffledā noise that is more pleasant to hear for the user.

The fluid product is a cosmetic product, more particularly a perfume, an eau de toilette, or a fragrance.
The fluid product is contained in the tank. Conventionally, the reservoir comprises at its upper part a rigid neck defining an opening into which the fluid distribution system is inserted. The dispensing system comprises fastening and sealing means which make it possible to maintain it permanently at neck level, to isolate the reservoir from the external environment and to preserve all the properties of the fluid product. The dispensing system further comprises a pump which can be actuated by a user by means of a push button, which makes it possible to vaporize a dose of the fluid product in the form of a spray.
The reservoir and the cover are the only two parts visible from the outside by a user. They must therefore present aesthetics and weight associated with the value of the product to be distributed, while reflecting the universe of the product.

When the cover is assembled, the
The
The
The
According to the invention, the
The filling means 18, 18', 19 consist of a plurality of
Said filling means 18, 18', 19 also consist of two
Some of said
Advantageously, the
Also advantageously, the
As mentioned previously, the filling means 18, 18' and 19 occupy a large part of the
The filling means 18, 18', 19 are evenly and regularly distributed within the
The filling means 18, 18', 19 extend amply in three dimensions within the
Incidentally, the filling means 18, 18' and 19 are therefore structurally very different from known assembly means such as helical, circumferential, etc. ribs. constituting the thread of the cylindrical portions of the tank necks on which are fixed a pump element, a plug or any other closing element of a tank. Indeed, in general, these ribs, although extending projecting from a cylindrical portion, have a small extension in depth and along a longitudinal axis of the cylindrical portion.
Furthermore, it is preferable for the
In particular, if the
Preferably, the
The control of these aesthetic defects is all the more important since the
Preferably, the
Preferably, the

The
Like the configuration seen previously, the filling means 18, 18', 19 consist of
The
Unlike the previous configuration, the
Here again, the
The configurations shown in the cited figures are only possible examples, in no way limiting, of the invention which, on the contrary, encompasses the variants of shapes and designs within the reach of those skilled in the art, without departing from the scope of the invention as disclosed in the claims.
