Description

Domaine de l'inventionField of invention

The field of the present invention concerns that of fastening methods and more particularly that of crimping methods. It concerns particularly, but not exclusively, the field of riveters.

Nowadays, rivets are fixed on supports such as leather by manual or pneumatic energy processes. These processes are of limited precision, not very ergonomic and long. Furthermore, they do not have any control to reveal possible crimping defects. The machines implementing these processes do not guarantee homogeneity of the implementation of the latter because all the operators can modify the parameters.

Furthermore, in a leather item customization process, for example, it is not possible to set different rivets on the same leather item while applying the correct crimping pressure and/or the correct crimping stroke. Indeed, if these parameters or at least one of these crimping parameters is not correctly applied to the rivet, the latter will eventually detach from the item. However, one of the criteria used to judge the quality of a finish is its durability.

The document US2014/025196A1 discloses an arc welding method comprising a device for emitting a label associated with a position of the welding support. Such a method is not suitable for performing a good setting of rivets on leather articles.

The document US2011/113613A1 discloses a method of assembling a bolt comprising a step of recognizing the screw and the nut by a reading system. Such a method is not suitable for the fine crimping of rivets on a leather article.

There figure 1 represents a diagram of the crimping method 100 according to the invention. This crimping method, implemented by a crimping device 400, is intended to crimp a crimping accessory 200, represented in the figure 2 , on at least one 990 leather support.

The crimping device 400, previously mentioned and shown in the figure 3 , comprises a control unit 410, configured to implement the crimping method 100, and a selection member.

This selection member can, by its configuration, propose a selection or select the crimping accessory 200 and/or a crimping tool 300.

This selection step 110 may comprise a step 115 of identifying the crimping accessory 200 and/or the crimping tool 300 so that the crimping accessory and/or the crimping tool are identified.

Indeed, the selection member 420 may be in the form of an assembly member 421 configured to receive an identification member 315 of the crimping tool 300 in the manner of a key and a lock or of two complementary objects so that the crimping tool 300 is identified during its assembly to the crimping device. Indeed, the identification member 315 allows the identification 115 of the crimping tool 300 before or during its assembly to the selection member 420.

This identification 115 of the crimping accessory 200 and/or the crimping tool 300 can also be carried out by optical identification 116, electrical identification 117, radio identification 118 and/or magnetic identification 119.

Indeed, the selection organ 420 can also comprise:
  • an optical device 416 such as a barcode reader, QR-Code and/or a camera for example,
  • an electrical device 417 such as a chip reader, and/or an impedance reader for example,
  • a 418 radio device such as an RFID tag reader for example, and/or
  • a magnetic device 419 such as a magnetic stripe reader for example.

These different options allow the selection member 420 to select by identifying or to identify the crimping accessory 200 and/or the crimping tool 300. In return, the crimping accessory 200 can comprise an identification element 215 configured to be identified such as a bar code, a QR code, visual characteristics recognizable by a camera, a chip, a particular impedance, an RFID tag and/or a magnetic strip.

In parallel or independently of the identification element 215, the identification member 315 can comprise a bar code, a QR code, visual characteristics recognizable by a camera, a chip, a particular impedance, an RFID tag and/or a magnetic strip to be able to be identified.

In addition to identifying the crimping accessory 200 and/or the crimping tool 300, the identification element 215 and/or the identification member 315 include a set of crimping parameters 190 so that the crimping accessory 200 is properly crimped.

This crimping parameter set 190 includes a crimping pressure parameter 193 and a crimping stroke parameter 194 such that the crimping pressure and stroke are performed depending on the selected crimping accessory 200 and/or the selected crimping tool 300 when the crimping method 100 is implemented.

This crimping method 100 comprises several steps, such as for example a step of selecting the crimping accessory 200 and/or a crimping tool 300, as described previously, a step of establishing, applying and maintaining the set of parameters seen previously.

Indeed, when the crimping accessory 200 is selected to be crimped on at least one leather support 990 , or on a complex, that is to say on a stack of leather supports comprising at least a first leather support 991 and a second leather support 992 as shown in the figure 1 , or when a crimping tool 300 for crimping the crimping accessory 200 is selected or when both are selected an establishment step 120 follows the selection step 110.

During this establishment step 120, the set of crimping parameters 190 is established as a function of the selected crimping accessory 200 and/or the selected crimping tool 300 and more particularly as a function of the identification element 215 and/or the identification member 315. Indeed, this establishment step uses the identification element 215 and/or the identification member 315 to know the crimping parameters 190 or to call upon crimping parameters 190 located in an internal memory or in a database.

The application 130 of this set of crimping parameters 190 can be carried out as a function of time 192 or according to a time-dependent curve as shown in FIG. figure 4 .

The application of this crimping pressure parameter 193 is controlled by an open loop servo, shown in the figure 5 , so as to control the crimping of the crimping accessory throughout this application step 130.

Indeed, when the crimping pressure parameter 193 is controlled by an open-loop servocontrol, the maintenance of the set of crimping parameters 190 is triggered when the crimping stroke encounters a movable stop member 493, which has the consequence of maintaining, or stabilizing, the set of crimping parameters during a maintenance period 191.

The crimping stroke parameter 194, for its part, is controlled by an open-loop servocontrol, and preferably by the movement of the movable stop member 493 which makes it possible to stop the crimping stroke and avoid marking the support, i.e. the leather, if the servocontrol of the crimping pressure would be too long or if the crimping accessory were to suddenly give way.

The application 130 of this set of crimping parameters 190 to the crimping accessory 200 and followed by a step of maintaining this set of crimping parameters 190 for a holding period 191 so that the deformation of the crimping accessory 200 is carried out uniformly.
