Definitions

  • the invention relates to a hearing aid according to the preamble of claim 1, therefore to a hearing aid with a housing that can be inserted into an ear of a person wearing the hearing aid (hereinafter also "user").
  • the invention relates in particular to an "instant-fit hearing aid” in which the housing has a non-individually adapted standard shape, a flexible holding screen with which the hearing aid can be fastened in the ear canal is placed on the housing.
  • a hearing aid is used to supply a hearing impaired person with acoustic ambient signals, which are processed accordingly and in particular amplified to compensate for the respective hearing impairment.
  • a hearing aid usually comprises an input transducer, for example in the form of a microphone, a signal processing unit with an amplifier, and an output transducer.
  • the output converter is usually implemented as a miniature loudspeaker and is also referred to as a listener or receiver. In particular, it generates acoustic output signals that are passed to the patient's hearing and generate the desired auditory perception in the latter.
  • BTE hearing aids Behind-The-Ear, also behind-the-ear or BTE
  • a housing with components such as a battery and the signal processing unit is worn behind the ear.
  • the receiver can either be arranged directly in the wearer's auditory canal (so-called Ex-receiver hearing aids or receiver-in-the-canal (RIC) hearing aids).
  • the receiver is arranged inside the housing itself and a flexible sound tube, also known as a tube, conducts the acoustic output signals of the receiver from the housing to the ear canal
  • ITE hearing aids in-the-ear, also IDO or in-the-ear
  • a housing that contains all functional components including the microphone and the receiver is at least partially worn in the ear canal.
  • CIC hearing aids Completely-in-Canal
  • ITE hearing aids in-the-ear, also IDO or in-the-ear
  • CIC hearing aids are similar to ITE hearing aids, but are worn entirely in the ear canal.
  • an instant-fit hearing aid comprises, for example, a housing shell (“shell”) closed by a front plate (“face-plate”).
  • the housing shell is longitudinally divided into two half-shells, a sound outlet opening being formed on one of these half-shells at an end that is intended to be inside (i.e. facing the eardrum).
  • the sound outlet opening has a joint head of a ball joint, the flexible holding screen mentioned at the beginning being able to be plugged onto this joint head.
  • the two housing shells are glued to one another after the hearing aid components received therein have been installed.
  • a hearing aid according to the preamble of claim 1 is from DE 42 15 711 A1 known.
  • the invention is based on the object of specifying a hearing aid that can be manufactured particularly efficiently.
  • the hearing aid according to the invention comprises a housing that can be inserted into an auditory canal of a person wearing the hearing aid, as well as a holding screen that is releasably attached or attachable to the housing for holding the housing in the ear canal.
  • the holding screen is made of a flexible material, for example a rubber or an elastomer material.
  • the housing comprises a one-piece housing shell (“shell”) in which a structural unit is received which comprises at least one earpiece (“receiver”).
  • the housing shell is made from a rigid material as a standard part that is not individually adapted.
  • the housing shell has, on the one hand, a first front opening which is closed with a front plate (“face plate”).
  • face plate a front plate
  • the housing shell has a second rear opening approximately opposite the first opening, the structural unit comprising the receiver protruding from the rear opening with a retaining connector, and the structural unit being secured by a locking ring placed on the retaining connector on the outside (ie from outside the housing shell) is fixed to the housing shell.
  • the holding stub is penetrated centrally by a sound channel which conducts sound generated by the receiver into the user's auditory canal.
  • the front opening of the housing shell faces the ear entrance, while the rear opening faces the eardrum.
  • the structural unit comprising the listener is inserted through the front opening of the housing shell into a housing interior enclosed by the housing shell, the holding stub being pushed out of the housing interior through the rear opening to the outside.
  • the retaining ring is then placed on the retaining stub protruding from the rear opening so that the structural unit is fixed to the housing shell.
  • the structural unit is expediently prefabricated outside the housing shell before it is installed.
  • the housing of the hearing aid according to the invention is advantageously simpler compared to conventional hearing aids and can be produced in a shorter time and thus in particular more cost-effectively.
  • the housing shell of the hearing aid according to the invention advantageously does not have to be glued or welded.
  • the housing shell is also advantageously designed to be particularly robust and particularly reliable with regard to mechanical failure. Since the structural unit comprising the receiver is neither glued nor welded in the housing shell, it can advantageously be dismantled without being destroyed and thus advantageously facilitates removal of the receiver, for example for repair or adjustment purposes.
  • the structural unit comprising the receiver further comprises a ring antenna (antenna coil) for wireless data transmission by means of magnetic induction.
  • the wireless data transmission is used, for example, for communication with a remote control or (in the case of binaural supply) for communication with a second hearing aid.
  • the ring antenna is arranged between the receiver and the holding connector, the ring antenna particularly encompassing the sound channel guided in the holding connector.
  • the structural unit is preferably preassembled outside the housing shell as a firmly connected structural unit before it is assembled.
  • the holding stub is provided with an external thread, the securing ring being provided with a corresponding internal thread.
  • the securing ring is thus designed as a threaded ring that can be screwed onto the holding connector.
  • the locking ring is preferably secured against automatic loosening with the aid of a screw lock, preferably with a mechanical screw lock.
  • the rear opening of the housing shell has a sawtooth contour that engages with the screwed-on and tightened locking ring.
  • the securing ring is attached to the holding stub by another force-locking and / or form-locking connection.
  • the securing ring is fixed to the holding stub, for example, by means of a snap or latching connection. Additionally or alternatively, retaining pins are used to fix the locking ring.
  • the holding stub has a connecting element, onto which the holding screen with a corresponding connecting element can be slipped or slipped.
  • the connecting element has, in particular, a ball joint head onto which the holding screen with a corresponding joint socket can be attached.
  • the connecting element is expediently arranged on the other side of the locking ring, i.e. When assembling the structural unit, the locking ring is mounted on the retaining stub over the connecting element.
  • the securing ring has a connecting element onto which the holding screen can be slipped or slipped with a corresponding connecting element.
  • the connecting element preferably has a ball joint head. If the connecting element is arranged on the securing ring, it can advantageously be removed particularly easily from the hearing aid housing, for example for repair purposes or for cleaning.
  • the connecting element can be exchanged particularly easily, for example in the event of a defect or if a change is to be made to another connection method.
  • the securing ring comprises a cerumen filter, which serves to protect the sound channel from penetrating dirt. A cleaning or an exchange of the cerumen filter can advantageously be carried out in a particularly simple manner in that the securing ring is dismantled and, if necessary, replaced.
  • the connecting element and the retaining piece or the locking ring is made in one piece (monolithic).
  • the connecting element and the holding stub or the locking ring are produced together as an injection-molded part, for example from a plastic.
  • the connecting element and the holding stub or the locking ring are made in one piece from metal.
  • the connecting element is made of metal, while the holding stub or the locking ring is made of plastic, the metallic connecting element in particular being encapsulated by the plastic.
  • connecting element is arranged on the holding stub or on the locking ring, alternative configurations of the connecting element are also conceivable.
  • a protective device is assigned to the locking ring, which is used to block functioning operation of the hearing aid if the locking ring is incorrectly seated. If the hearing aid is blocked by the protective device, i.e. the hearing aid does not work, the user will check that the locking ring is correctly positioned.
  • the user is reliably informed by comparatively simple means if the locking ring is not correctly seated on the holding socket, and there is thus the risk that the locking ring will come loose in the user's ear canal.
  • the protective device is preferably implemented mechanically and / or electrically.
  • the locking ring is mechanically coupled to a battery flap of the hearing aid, so that the battery flap can only be closed when the locking ring is correctly seated. With the battery door open the voltage supply of the hearing aid is interrupted in a conventional manner, so that the operation of the hearing aid is blocked.
  • an electrical contact is assigned to the locking ring, which is only closed when the locking ring is correctly seated, so that in this case too the power supply to the hearing aid is interrupted if the locking ring is not correctly seated.
  • the locking ring has a further additional function in addition to its main function for fixing the structural unit.
  • the additional function can be provided, for example, by a switching function that can be actuated by means of the locking ring.
  • the additional function is preferably provided by an on / off function, which is implemented in particular, approximately as described above, by an electrical contact that is closed or opened in a specific position of the locking ring. Switching the hearing aid on and off is advantageously simplified for the user. In conventional hearing aids, switching on and off is usually implemented by closing or opening the battery compartment. It has been recognized that the battery compartment can be damaged relatively easily. This risk does not exist when switching on and off by means of the locking ring. Additionally or alternatively, the locking ring is set up and used to set different hearing aid programs.
  • the use of the securing ring as a switching element is particularly preferably provided in the case of a securing ring which is rotatably snapped onto the holding stub to hold the structural unit.
  • the additional function is used for the side indication of the hearing aid.
  • the side indication is implemented in particular by color coding the locking ring.
  • the front panel is preferably fastened to the housing shell with the aid of a latching connection, so that the entire production of the hearing aid housing takes place without an adhesive step.
  • the uncomplicated and inexpensive assembly of the hearing aid is thereby further supported in an advantageous manner.
  • the front plate is screwed to the housing shell or fastened to the housing shell with the aid of retaining pins.
  • the dimensions of the front panel are preferably adapted to the front opening of the housing shell, so that it advantageously no longer has to be cut to size after its assembly - as is conventionally provided.
  • a hearing aid 1 that comprises a housing 2 for receiving hearing aid components.
  • the illustration shows a longitudinal section through the hearing aid 1, so that a housing interior 3 enclosed by the housing 2 and the hearing aid components completely or partially accommodated therein, comprising a microphone 4, a signal processor 5, an earpiece 6 (“receiver”) and a ring-shaped induction coil, short ring antenna 7, are visible.
  • the hearing aid 1 is an "in-the-ear” hearing aid (ITE hearing aid) to be worn in the auditory canal, which is designed as a so-called "instant-fit device”.
  • the housing 2 is accordingly manufactured as a non-custom-made standard part, the hearing aid 1 comprising a flexible holding screen 9 which is detachably placed on the housing 2.
  • the holding screen 9 made for example of silicone, serves to fix the housing 2 in the auditory canal of a person wearing the hearing aid (“user”).
  • the holding screen 9 is only indicated schematically here.
  • the holding screen 9 is typically designed as a replacement or replacement part that is separate (detached or detachable) from the housing 2.
  • Such holding screens are conventionally referred to, for example, as "click domes", "click sleeves” or “ear molds”.
  • a side of the housing 2 designated as the rear side 12 faces the eardrum of the user, while a side of the housing 2 designated as the front side 13 faces the ear entry (the auricle) as intended.
  • the housing 2 comprises a one-piece housing shell 15 (“shell”) and a front plate 16 (“face plate”) for closing the housing shell 15.
  • the housing shell 15 is roughly tubular in shape, which tapers towards the rear 12.
  • the housing shell 15 has a first, front (assembly) opening 20 and, approximately opposite, a second, rear (assembly) opening 21.
  • the front opening 20 is used to insert the hearing aid components into the housing shell 15.
  • the rear opening 21 is used to assemble the earpiece 6 and the ring antenna 7.
  • the hearing aid 1 comprises a structural unit 25, which in turn comprises a holding stub 27 protruding from the opening 21, the ring antenna 7 being received in the holding stub 27, and the Handset 6 is fixed to the ring antenna 7.
  • a securing ring 30 placed on the holding connector 27 from the rear side 12 serves to fix the structural unit 25 on the housing shell 15.
  • the holding stub 27 has a connecting element 35 arranged outside the housing 2, which corresponds to a connecting element 36 of the holding screen 9, so that the holding screen 9 can be clicked onto the housing 2, specifically onto the connecting element 35.
  • the holding stub 27 is made as a pot-like or cup-shaped component made of plastic.
  • the holding connector 27 accordingly comprises a flat bottom 40 and a peripheral wall 41 adjoining the bottom 40, which encloses a hollow cylindrical connector interior 42.
  • the diameter of the holding stub 27 corresponds approximately to the diameter of the opening 21.
  • a circumferential stop 44 projecting radially outward is integrally formed on one edge of the peripheral wall 41.
  • the holding stub 27 is inserted in the opening 21, with its predominant part protruding from the housing shell 15 and in the housing interior 3, the stop 44 rests against an edge of the housing shell 15 surrounding the opening 21.
  • a retaining lug 45 - likewise protruding radially outward - is formed out of the stop 44, which in the assembled state acts as an anti-twist device for the retaining stub 27.
  • a circular (sound) opening 48 is made centrally in the bottom 40 of the holding connector 27 and is enclosed by a rim 50 which projects vertically towards the connector interior 42.
  • the connecting element 35 adjoins the opening 48 towards the outside.
  • the connecting element 35 is a short tube piece made of metal, which is aligned coaxially with the holding connector 27, the tube piece being aligned with the opening 48.
  • the connecting element 35 is molded into the bottom 40 of the holding connector 27 with the aid of ribs running around the outside.
  • the inner diameter of the connecting element 35 expands in one step. In this area, the outer surface of the connecting element 35 is bulged outward with the formation of a ball joint head 52.
  • the connecting element 35 is correspondingly also referred to as a “ball spout”.
  • the holding connector 27 has an external thread 54 on an outer surface of the peripheral wall 41, onto which the securing ring 30 for fixing the holding connector 27 to the housing shell 15 is screwed from outside the housing 2.
  • the securing ring 30 is provided with an internal thread 56 matched to the external thread 54.
  • the locking ring 30 is secured against automatic loosening.
  • the opening 21 is provided with a sawtooth contour 58 facing the locking ring 30, which acts as a mechanical screw locking device for the tightened locking ring 30 due to its barb structure (cf. in particular Fig. 2 ).
  • the securing ring 30 has longitudinal ribs which are used to assemble the securing ring 30 with the aid of a tool wrench.
  • the securing ring 30 rests in a sealing manner on the holding connector 27 with a sealing edge 60 projecting radially inward.
  • the outer surface of the peripheral wall 41 acts as a sealing surface in a section near the bottom.
  • the interior 3 of the housing is sealed against ingress of dirt (moisture, sweat, cerumen), however, by a surface pressure resulting from the screwing of the retaining connector 27 in the housing shell 15, which acts in particular between the stop 44 and the edge surrounding the opening 21.
  • the locking ring 30 is optionally colored in order to identify the side of the head for which the hearing aid is intended (for example red for the right side and blue for the left side).
  • the ring antenna 7 is inserted into the socket interior 42 of the holding socket 27, the two parts being aligned at least approximately coaxially.
  • the ring antenna 7 is designed as a cylindrical hollow body open at both longitudinal ends. At its first longitudinal end, the ring antenna 7 sits with its inner diameter on the rim 50 surrounding the opening 48.
  • the ring antenna 7 is glued into the holding connector 27 with silicone.
  • the silicone also serves to acoustically seal a sound channel 62 guided inside the ring antenna 7.
  • the outer diameter of the ring antenna 7 expands in a step radially outward so that an end face 64 of the ring antenna 7 is enlarged.
  • the receiver 6 is glued onto the end face 64 of the ring antenna 7 so that the sound generated by the receiver 6 is conducted into the sound channel 62.
  • a thin copper foil is glued between the receiver 6 and the ring antenna 7, by means of which the ring antenna 7 is magnetically shielded from the receiver 6.
  • the ring antenna 7 is first glued to the receiver 6 (as well as to the copper foil), and then the ring antenna 7 is glued in the holding connector 27. • the front plate 16 comprises electrical contact elements 82 (cf. Fig. 3 ), which protrude into the housing interior 3 and which establish the electrical contact with the battery 80 when the battery flap 76 is closed.
  • Latching elements are formed on the housing shell 15 and on the front plate 16.
  • the latching elements are implemented by a bead-like projection 85 which runs around the circumference of the front plate 16 and which snaps into associated projections 86 formed on the opening 20. By means of the projections 85, 86 the front plate 16 is fixed to the housing shell 15 by a “snap lock” or a “click connection”.
  • the front plate 16 is optionally screwed to the housing shell 15. Additionally or alternatively, the front plate 16 is glued to the housing shell 15.
  • the Fig. 4 and Fig. 5 each explain two different concepts for realizing a protective device 90 in a schematic representation.
  • the protective device 90 is intended to ensure that the locking ring 30 is correctly mounted on the retaining socket 27, so that there is no risk of the locking ring 30 in the user's auditory canal Retaining stub 27 detaches.
  • the protective device 90 ensures that the hearing aid 1 can only be operated when the securing ring 30 is correctly mounted on the holding connector 27.
  • the protective device 90 comprises a ring-side contact element 91 which is attached to the locking ring 30, as well as a housing-side electrical interruption 92 which is arranged on the housing shell 15, specifically on a peripheral edge of the opening 21.
  • the ring-side contact element 91 is designed, for example, as a conductive ring on an end face of the securing ring 30 facing the housing shell 15.
  • the housing-side interruption 92 interrupts a circuit which is used to supply current or voltage to the hearing aid 1. If the locking ring 30 is tightened sufficiently, the interruption 92 is bridged by the contact element 91 and the circuit is closed. This ensures that the hearing aid 1 can only be operated when the securing ring 30 is properly mounted on the holding connector 27.
  • the protective device 90 comprises a mechanical coupling 95 which mechanically couples the securing ring 30 to a locking mechanism 96 assigned to the battery flap 76.
  • the coupling 95 and the locking mechanism 96 are only indicated symbolically here.
  • the mechanical coupling 95 only releases the locking mechanism 96 when the securing ring 30 is correctly mounted on the holding stub 27. Otherwise, the battery flap 76 is blocked by the locking mechanism 96 so that it cannot be closed.
  • the battery flap 76 is open, however in turn, a circuit which ensures the power supply to the hearing aid 1 is interrupted, and the hearing aid 1 cannot be operated.
  • the contact element 91 and the interruption 92 serve to use the locking ring 30 as an on / off switch for the hearing aid 1.
  • the locking ring 30 thus has a switching function as an additional function.
  • the securing ring 30 is not screwed onto the retaining stub 27, but rather is attached with a click connection so that the securing ring 30 is rotatably supported.
  • the contact element 91 bridges the interruption 92 only in a certain rotational position of the securing ring 30. (In this case, the contact element 91 extends only over a certain circumferential section of the securing ring 30.)
  • the locking ring is used as a control element for changing between different hearing aid modes, etc.
  • the switching function of the locking ring 30 is, for example, by means of an injection molded circuit carrier ("Molded Interconnect Device", MID for short) or a reed switch (also reed contact) - i.e. by a switch that can be operated by a magnetic field.
  • an injection molded circuit carrier "Molded Interconnect Device", MID for short) or a reed switch (also reed contact) - i.e. by a switch that can be operated by a magnetic field.
  • Fig. 6 shows the locking ring 30 in an alternative embodiment which largely corresponds to the previous embodiments.
  • the connecting element 35 is arranged on the securing ring 30 here.
  • the connecting element 35 is also designed essentially analogously to the above embodiments and in particular has the ball joint head 52. With the locking ring screwed on 30, the connecting element 35 is aligned with the sound channel 62 (as in Fig. 1 shown).
  • the connecting element 35 is made of metal and embedded in the securing ring 30 - made of plastic - in an injection molding process.
  • the connecting element 35 and the securing ring 30 are made in one piece (monolithic), for example as an injection molded part made of plastic or as a turned part made of metal.
  • a cerumen filter is integrated into the securing ring 30 (not shown here), which prevents dirt, in particular cerumen (ear wax) from penetrating into the sound channel 62.
