Definitions
- the invention relates to a hearing instrument, in particular a hearing aid worn on the head of a hearing aid wearer, in particular a RiC BtE hearing aid (receiver-in-canal (Behind-the-Ear or BTE, behind-the-ear)) according to the preamble of the claim 1.
- a hearing instrument is for example from the US 2007/0183612 A1 and from the WO 2008/095505 A1 known.
- Hearing instruments can be designed as hearing aids.
- a hearing aid is used to supply a hearing-impaired person with acoustic ambient signals that are processed and amplified for compensation or therapy of the respective hearing impairment. It consists in principle of one or more input transducers, of a signal processing device, of an amplification device, and of an output transducer.
- the input transducer is typically a sound receiver, e.g. a microphone, and / or an electromagnetic receiver, e.g. an induction coil.
- the output signal generator is typically used as an electroacoustic transducer, e.g. Miniature loudspeaker, or as an electromechanical transducer, e.g. Bone conduction receiver, realized. He is also referred to as a handset or receiver.
- the output signal generator generates output signals that are routed to the patient's ear and are intended to produce a hearing perception in the patient.
- the amplifier is usually integrated in the signal processing device.
- the hearing aid is powered by a battery integrated into the hearing aid housing.
- the essential components of a hearing aid are usually arranged on a printed circuit board as a circuit carrier or connected thereto.
- hearing instruments can also be designed as a so-called tinnitus masker.
- Tinnitus maskers become therapy used by tinnitus patients. They produce from the respective hearing impairment and depending on the principle of action also dependent on ambient noise acoustic output signals that can contribute to reducing the perception of annoying tinnitus or other ear noises.
- the term hearing instrument should also be understood tinnitus masker and other such devices.
- Hearing aids are known in various basic housing configurations.
- In-the-ear (in-the-ear) hearing aids a housing containing all the functional components, including the microphone and receiver, is mostly worn in the ear canal.
- CiC Completely-in-Canal
- a housing with components such as battery and signal processing device is worn behind the ear and a flexible sound tube, also referred to as tube, directs the acoustic output signals of a receiver from the housing to the ear canal
- RiC-BtE hearing aids (receiver-in-canal behind-the-ear) are similar to BTE hearing aids, but the receiver is worn in the ear canal and instead of a sound tube, a flexible earpiece tube conducts electrical signals instead of acoustic signals to the receiver, which is at the front of the earpiece tube is appropriate. All housing configurations have in common is that as small a housing as possible be sought in order to increase the comfort and to reduce the visibility of the hearing aid for cosmetic reasons.
- RiC-BtE hearing aids can be equipped with multiple microphones to provide spatial resolution of the ambient sound received by the microphones.
- the multiple microphones are spatially separated from each other. It is obvious that the spatial arrangement of the microphones relative to each other and to the ear of the hearing aid wearer has an influence on the spatial resolution.
- Housing and receiver tube of RiC-BtE hearing aids are usually detachably connected to each other.
- a connector is provided, which is usually designed as a plug connection.
- the connector comprises at least one electrical connection component, for example a pin plug, with which the electrical connection between the electrical components arranged in the housing of the hearing device and the receiver arranged at the receiver's earpiece is produced.
- the means of connecting cables temporarily with an external device eg. B. for programming the auxiliary hearing aid ( EP 0 591 791 A1 ) or for connection to another electroacoustic device ( CH 668 154 A5 ) or with a charging device ( DE 10 2008 022 925 A1 ), wherein the corresponding plug and contact connections on the outer narrow side facing away from the ear of the hearing aid device housing, that is, starting from the housing carried behind the ear are arranged at the top.
- FIG. 1 is a conventional RiC BtE hearing aid according to the above-described prior art shown, but without a receiver. It comprises a housing 1 to be supported behind the auricle of a hearing device wearer. In the housing, two microphones 2 are arranged in addition to further electronic components, not shown. One of the microphones 2 is arranged at a further forward position and is therefore also referred to as a front microphone FM, the other microphone 2 is arranged at a position further back and is therefore also referred to as a rear microphone RM.
- a front microphone FM the other microphone 2 is arranged at a position further back and is therefore also referred to as a rear microphone RM.
- the housing For electrical connection to a receiver, the housing comprises a socket 3.
- the socket 3 is part of a connector receptacle, by means of which a receiver tube 5 can be detachably connected via the connector 4 to the housing 1 and the electronic components arranged therein.
- the connector is arranged on the front end wall of the elongated housing 1. This end wall of the housing 1 protrudes, if the housing is intended to be worn behind the ear of a hearing aid wearer, to the upper front edge of the auricle and possibly beyond this, so it can be seen from the front and possibly also from the side.
- a likewise not shown receiver is mounted, which is arranged in the auditory canal of the hearing aid wearer.
- a disadvantage of the above-described prior art RiC-BtE hearing aid inter alia, that the connector 4 due to its exposed position on the front of the housing 1 and also because of its size very noticeable and visually less pleasing aesthetically and cosmetically.
- Another disadvantage is that the front end wall of the housing 1 can not be significantly reduced because of the connector 4 or the connector receptacle.
- the microphones 2 are arranged following the contour of the auricle at different heights, specifically the rear microphone 2 below the front microphone 2, whereas an arrangement at the same height would be more favorable for the directionality or the directionality index.
- front an orientation in the direction of the hearing aid wearer and “down” an orientation in the vertical direction down and thus coming from above towards the ear of the hearing aid wearer.
- Previously known hearing aids usually include an inner frame in which components are mounted and mounted, and an outer housing.
- the housing is often interchangeable mounted and can be changed to change the color and shape of the hearing aid.
- the usual in prior art hearing aid connector limits the design options in terms of color and shape, as he is a functional component of the hearing aid in contrast to the housing by a mechanical, possibly electrical and / or optionally acoustic connection between the housing and the tube to be connected or other component has to produce.
- the object of the invention is to provide a hearing aid with a small and visually inconspicuous connector for, which should be as far as possible even not visible on the worn hearing instrument, and allows for use on a BtE hearing aid for directionality and sound recording microphone arrangement favorable.
- a basic idea of the invention consists in a connector for a hearing instrument which comprises an electrical connection component and a mechanical connection component.
- the electrical connection component is engageable with an electrical connection component within a housing of a hearing instrument and the mechanical connection component with a mechanical connection component which is part of the housing of the hearing instrument, in mutual engagement.
- the mechanical connection component comprises a lock which serves to lock a connection made by the connector.
- the connector is arranged on a receiver tube and is designed to connect the receiver tube to a housing of a hearing instrument, in particular a BtE hearing device.
- a longitudinal direction is defined by the tube in the region of the connector, and the connector is designed such that it is connected by insertion into a connector receptacle of a hearing instrument transversely to the longitudinal direction.
- the connector is connected transversely to the longitudinal direction, and not by insertion in the longitudinal direction, it can be connected to a laterally arranged on a housing of a hearing instrument connector receptacle. This allows a more flexible placement, in particular on a lateral wall of the housing, which is advantageous especially in a BtE hearing aid.
- the connector connection is made by joining transversely to the longitudinal direction against tensile load in the longitudinal direction, e.g. by pulling on the receiver hose, relieved of strain.
- the mechanical connection component of the connector comprises a retaining lug and an elastic locking bolt, which can be brought into mutual engagement with an undercut of a housing of a hearing instrument.
- the retaining lug can be inserted or inserted into an undercut, while the elastic locking latch can snap into the other undercut automatically by pressing.
- the connector connection can be closed without additional tools by manual snapping; to open is merely a commonly available standard tool, e.g. a screwdriver, required.
- the mechanical connection component of the connector comprises a locking pin receptacle.
- This is oriented so that the connector by inserting a locking pin in the locking pin receptacle lockable and by removing the locking pin is unlockable.
- the locking pin receptacle is preferably oriented transversely to the direction in which the connector is inserted and removed from the connector receptacle.
- the lock pin receptacle can be a round hole in the simplest case, in which a likewise round pin can be inserted;
- the bore and pin can be dimensioned such that the pin sits "sucking" in the hole and therefore does not automatically slip out of the socket, but can only be driven out by pushing or pulling it.
- the connector connection can be closed without additional tools by manually inserting the pin; only a commonly available standard tool, such as a pen, is required to open.
- a sealing means in particular a sealing ring, is provided in the mechanical connection component.
- the sealant protects the hearing instrument and the connector or the electrical contacts of the connector against the ingress of dirt and moisture. This reduces corrosion and reduces contact difficulties.
- the placement of the connector laterally on a housing thereby allows a flat sealing surface on which the sealant is to come to rest, while in conventional placement on an end wall only small areas and predominantly curved surfaces are available.
- the electrical connection component of the connector comprises a spring-loaded contact pin, in particular a pogo pin.
- the spring force ensures a secure electrical connection at all times.
- the spring force can increase the pressure on the electrical connection and thereby improve the contact and thus also compensate for mechanical play, which can result, for example, from the tolerances of the connector or the connector receptacle.
- the application of the electrical connection with a spring force thus increases the reliability and reduces the demands on the mechanical manufacturing accuracy.
- the housing defines a longitudinal direction and the connector receptacle is opened in a direction transverse to the longitudinal direction such that the connector is connected by insertion into the connector receptacle transversely to the longitudinal direction.
- the connector receptacle comprises an electrical connection component and a mechanical connection component.
- the electrical connection component comprises an electrical connection component arranged within the housing of the hearing instrument, and the mechanical connection component a mechanical connection component which is part of the housing. This advantageously separates the electrical connection component from the mechanical connection component.
- the electrical connection component may be based, for example, on a frictional contact, for example using a spring, and be realized, for example, as a pogo pin (a pin contact instructed by a spring force). For example, it may contact the inner frame of the hearing aid or an electrical connector component connected to the inner frame.
- the mechanical connection component engages in the outer housing of the hearing instrument.
- the mechanical connection component which can also serve as a lock, and in which also a sealing means can be integrated or provided, engages in the outer housing of the hearing aid.
- the locking can be realized for example in the form of a snap closure or with an axis or a pin.
- the connector is connected transversely to the longitudinal direction, and not by insertion in the longitudinal direction, it can be connected to the side of the housing of the hearing instrument arranged connector receptacle.
- This allows a more flexible placement, in particular on a lateral wall of the housing, which is advantageous especially in a BtE hearing aid.
- the front wall of the housing can be reduced in size, which is optically advantageous, since the end wall of a RiC-BtE hearing device in particular protrudes visibly from the front over the ear of the hearing device wearer.
- the freed Part of the end wall advantageously be used differently, in a RiC BtE hearing aid in particular, to arrange a microphone further forward in the region of the end wall, resulting in a better sound pickup and a more favorable position for directional microphone arrangements.
- the connector connection allows a narrow front surface of the hearing aid and is visually inconspicuous and discreet. It also allows an overall narrow and compact, slim hearing aid.
- the connector connection is relieved of strain by connecting transversely to the longitudinal direction against tensile load in the longitudinal direction, for example by pulling on the receiver tube.
- Such a connector connection allows easy handling and easy closing and opening. It requires little space and makes it possible to manage with a smaller amount of double-walled design of the outer housing and inner frame. If the auditory instrument-side mechanical component of the connector connection is damaged, it can be replaced together with the hearing instrument housing, which is advantageous in the case of service. Because of the dual function of the housing as a housing and as a mechanical component of the connector connection no separate, additional to the housing connector component is required.
- Such a connector connection advantageously allows a hearing aid with behind the ear of a hearing aid wearer housing to be supported, in which a connector receptacle for connection to a receiver tube and at least two microphones are arranged, which are each connected to a microphone opening, wherein the microphone Are arranged at spatially separated microphone positions, and wherein the connector is disposed on a side wall of the housing and one of the microphone positions in the region of a front end wall of the housing.
- the mechanical connection component of the hearing instrument on the side of the housing each include an undercut, which engage in mutual engagement can be brought with a retaining lug and an elastic locking latch of a connector.
- the retaining lug can be inserted or inserted into an undercut, while the elastic locking latch can snap into the other undercut automatically by pressing.
- the connector connection can be closed without additional tools by manual snapping; For opening, only a commonly available standard tool, such as a screwdriver, is required.
- the mechanical connection component of the hearing instrument on the side of the housing comprises a locking pin receptacle.
- This is oriented in such a way that a connector can be locked by inserting a locking pin into the locking pin receptacle and unlocked by removing the locking pin.
- the locking pin receptacle is preferably oriented transversely to the direction in which the connector is inserted and removed from the connector receptacle.
- the lock pin receptacle can be a round hole in the simplest case, in which a likewise round pin can be inserted;
- the bore and pin can be dimensioned such that the pin sits "sucking" in the hole and therefore does not automatically slip out of the socket, but can only be driven out by pushing or pulling it.
- the connector connection can be closed without additional tools by manually inserting the pin; to open is merely a commonly available standard tool, e.g. a pen, required.
- the lateral arrangement of the above-discussed connector or connector receptacle is made possible by its dimensions and locking mechanism and moves him from the exposed position on the front end wall of the housing away.
- the housing which is worn behind the ear, can generally be made clearer and more visually pleasing, at least from the front visible, front end wall of the housing.
- it allows freedom of design with respect to the front end wall of the housing, there to provide the front microphone position.
- the front microphone position thus moves further away from a possibly covered by the auricle position, which favors the recording of ambient acoustic signals.
- the rear microphone position can also be moved further forward. Both microphone positions are thus more above the ear than behind the ear and can be arranged at least approximately at the same height. The arrangement at the same height favors the spatial resolution of the recorded ambient sound (directionality) by the signal processing of the hearing aid.
- the connector is disposed on a, when the housing is worn behind the ear of a hearing aid wearer, lower side wall of the housing - in other words at the bottom of the housing.
- the connector to the ear of the hearing aid wearer is oriented towards and is largely hidden by this, so that it is exposed only slightly.
- the low exposure is on the one hand aesthetically advantageous, on the other hand it can contribute to the reduction of harmful environmental influences such as rain, moisture, dust and dirt. It also makes it possible to provide a more reliable seal against such environmental influences.
- the described arrangement of a suitably flat or executed with a small cross-section connector can be used to perform the housing of the hearing aid overall flat or less flat, to increase the comfort and to achieve a more aesthetically pleasing design.
- the From the front rather visible front end wall of the housing are made flat or less flat.
- Such a connector is disposed on an underside of a BTE hearing aid housing such that the front and the other sides of the housing are for other purposes, e.g. for the arrangement of microphones, used or designed visually appealing.
- FIG. 2 is a hearing aid with lateral connector 24 and side connector receptacle 29 and microphone 22 at the front end wall in side view shown schematically.
- the hearing device comprises a housing 21 to be worn behind the ear of a hearing aid wearer, in which microphones 22 and a plug connector 23 for connection to a receiver hose 25 are arranged in addition to other components usually required.
- the connector 23 is designed as a socket and arranged in a connector receptacle 29.
- the handset tube 25 has a connector 24 which includes a plug.
- the connector 24 is inserted into the side of the housing 21 provided connector receptacle 29. In this case, the plug of the connector 24 is inserted into the socket of the connector 23.
- electrical line 26 a not shown end of the receiver tube 25 arranged, also not shown receiver electrically connected.
- the illustration indicates that the connector 24 is inserted from the side of the housing 21 into the connector receptacle 29.
- the direction of movement when inserting the connector 24 is thus transverse to the longitudinal direction of the receiver tube 25 in the region of the connector 24, because the connector 24 is seated at a longitudinal end of the receiver tube 25.
- the receiver tube 25 together with the connector 24 can likewise be arranged laterally on the housing 21.
- the connector 24 is made flat compared to the housing 21.
- the connector 24 does not cover the front end wall of the housing 21.
- the front end wall can therefore be used elsewhere and there is the front microphone position 27 is arranged.
- At the front microphone position 27 is a microphone opening, not shown, in the housing 21, with which one of the microphones 22 is connected.
- the front microphone position 27 is thus compared to a conventional RiC BtE hearing aid with frontally arranged on the front side Hörerschlauch connector overall forward of the hearing aid.
- the rear microphone position 28 which must be arranged spatially separated from the front for the purpose of spatial resolution of the sound detection, moved on the hearing aid in total further forward.
- FIG. 3 is a hearing aid with side connector and microphone on the front end wall in front view schematically shown.
- microphone openings 37 are provided at the front microphone position 37, with which the associated microphone, not shown, is connected.
- the front microphone position 37 is recognizable on the front end wall of the housing 31.
- the rear microphone position including microphone openings is not visible in the selected view.
- a connector receptacle 39 into which the tube 35 is guided.
- the connector of the listener tube 35 and the connector between the listener tube 35 and housing 31 are not visible in the selected view.
- FIG. 4 is a connector 23 between the listener tube 45 and the hearing aid housing, not shown, shown schematically, which could be used as described above laterally arranged on a hearing aid housing.
- an electrical line 46 Through the listener tube 45 extends an electrical line 46, by means of which a non-illustrated end of the receiver tube 45 arranged also not shown receiver is connected.
- the connector 44 of the receiver tube 45 has a socket 42.
- plug 43 In the socket provided on the hearing aid housing plug 43 can be inserted.
- the plug 43 is part of the connector 23 and arranged on a circuit carrier 40.
- a via 41 extends through the circuit carrier 40 and connects the plug 43 to unillustrated electronic components of the hearing aid, e.g. an output amplifier.
- the connector 44 is inserted from below into the connector 23 or plugged.
- FIG. 5 is a schematic representation of the microphone axes reproduced at the ear of a hearing aid wearer.
- the hearing aid 51 is merely outlined as a contour in order to be able to explain the possible microphone positions 27, 28, FM, RM. From the ear of the hearing aid wearer, only the contour of the auricle 52 is indicated, but need not be reproduced true to scale or in the orientation to the housing 51 correctly.
- the microphone positions FM and RM denote the usual positions in a conventional RiC BtE hearing aid.
- the front microphone position FM (Front Microphone) is arranged on the upper side of the housing 51 and forms with the lower rear microphone position RM (Rear Microphone) a downward sloping line - as shown in the figure.
- the sloping down line is forced, since the microphone positions must be arranged spatially separated to allow directionality at all, and on the other hand, the housing 51 from the front microphone position FM to the rear RM of the contour of the auricle 52 to the rear drops.
- the different spatial arrangement of the microphone positions FM and RM is less favorable in terms of directionality than an equally high arrangement.
- both microphone positions FM and RM are at least partially covered by the auricle 52, which makes it difficult to record ambient acoustic signals.
- the front microphone position FM (and thus also the rear) back to move forward is not possible because the front end wall of the housing 51 is taken in a conventional RiC BtE hearing aid from the unillustrated Hörerschlauch connector.
- an inventive arrangement of the Hörerschlauch connector on the side wall of the housing 51 allows to use the front end wall and the front end wall area otherwise.
- the front microphone position 27 is thus arranged in front of the housing 51, compared to the conventional front microphone position FM.
- the rear microphone position 28 is located further forward.
- the two microphone positions 27 and 28 thus form an at least approximately horizontal line - as shown in the figure.
- the at least approximately equal spatial arrangement of the microphone positions 27 and 28 is particularly favorable in terms of directionality.
- at least the front microphone position 27 is relatively less covered by the auricle 52, which favors the recording of ambient acoustic signals.
- FIG. 6 is a schematic representations of both sides, so both the connector 101 and the connector receptacle 111 reproduced.
- a housing 100 of a hearing aid in this case comprises one side, the connector receptacle 111.
- the other side, the connector 101 is arranged on a receiver tube 102.
- FIG. 7 is a schematic further representation of both sides of a connector connection, with connector 108 and connector receptacle 119, reproduced
- the connector 108 includes a contact pin 106.
- the contact pin 106 which is not shown in the figure, with the force be acted upon by a spring which drives him elastically out of the plug 108; he can be executed in this way, for example, as a pogo pin.
- Around the contact pin 106 around a sealing ring 107 is arranged, which may be embodied for example as an O-ring.
- the sealing ring 107 is arranged so that it or the like a seal against the ingress of moisture, water, dirt. on the way through the electrical connector forms when the connector is closed.
- the connector receptacle 119 is an opening through which the contact pin 107 in a contact pin receptacle 104 can be introduced. As a result, the electrical contact between the connector receptacle 119 or the hearing device and connector 108 is closed.
- the contact pin receptacle 104 is attached to the inner frame 103 of the hearing aid; it may be part of further mounted on the inner frame 103 electrical components.
- FIG. 8 is a schematic representation of both sides of a connector connection, with connector 121 and connector receptacle 120, reproduced.
- the connector 121 is arranged on a receiver tube 114. It has a contact pin 116 with surrounding sealing ring 117. It further comprises a rigid retaining lug 115 and a flexible locking bolt 118; the locking bolt can be integrally formed on the plug 121; For example, it can be made of flexible plastic.
- the connector receptacle 120 is disposed on a housing 122 includes an opening through which the contact pin 116 can be inserted into a contact pin receptacle 109.
- the contact pin receptacle 109 is mounted on an inner frame 110, optionally together with or as part of other electrical components.
- the contact pin 116 and the contact pin receptacle 109 together form the electrical connection component of the connector.
- the electrical connection component includes visible plug 121 and inner frame 110 and the inner frame 110 mounted components.
- the connector receptacle 120 each has an undercut 112, 113, which can be brought into mutual engagement with the retaining lug 115 or the locking latch 118 of the connector 121.
- the connector 121 is first inserted with the retaining lug 115 in the retaining lug 115 associated undercut 112. Subsequently, with a rotational movement of the connector 121 around the axis of rotation formed by the undercut 112 and retaining lug 115 around the elastic locking bolt 118 with its associated Undercut 113 brought into mutual engagement.
- the retaining lug 115, the locking bolt 118 and the associated undercuts 112 and 113 together form the mechanical connection component of the connector.
- the mechanical connection component includes, as shown, connector 121 and housing 122.
- Undercut 113 and locking bolt 118 may be shaped so that a separate operation of the locking bar 118 is not required, but it automatically snaps into place by pressing the connector 121 in the undercut 113. No separate tool is required for this.
- the locking bolt 118 To open the connector connection, the locking bolt 118 must be actuated so that it is released from the undercut 113 in order to be able to pull out the connector 121;
- a narrow tool e.g. a screwdriver, be required to drive into the gap between the locking bolt 118 and the undercut 113 forming housing part.
- FIG. 9 a hearing aid with lateral connector receptacle or side connector 134 is shown schematically.
- the hearing aid comprises a housing 132 and in the housing 132, a locking pin receptacle 137 is provided.
- the locking pin receptacle 137 is designed as a round opening.
- an electrical connector 135 is accessible through an opening, which is mounted within the housing 132 on the inner frame 139.
- the connector 134 is arranged at the longitudinal end of a receiver tube 133. It also includes a lock pin receptacle 138, which is also designed as a round opening. The connector 134 also includes an electrical connector 136.
- the connector 134 By a movement transversely to the longitudinal direction of the listener tube 133, the connector 134 is inserted laterally into the connector receptacle of the housing. It is by the electrical Plug connector 135, 136, the electrical connection from the connector 134 into the interior of the housing 132 is closed.
- the lock pin receptacles 137, 138 are brought into congruent, superimposed positions and by pushing a locking pin (not shown in the figure), the mechanical connection from the connector 134 to the housing 132 is closed.
- the locking pin has a cross section which is equal to or smaller than the cross section of the locking pin receptacles 137, 138, such that it can be pushed therethrough, but can not automatically slide out of these. To open the connector connection, the locking pin must be removed again by pulling or pushing it out of the locking pin receptacles 137, 138.
- the invention relates to a connector for a hearing instrument, in particular a RiC-BtE hearing aid.
- the object of the invention is to specify a small and visually inconspicuous connector for a hearing instrument, which should as far as possible not even be visible on the worn hearing instrument, and which, when used on a BtE hearing aid, makes microphone arrangement favorable for directionality and sound recording possible.
- a hearing instrument is specified, in particular RiC-BtE hearing aid, with a laterally arranged connector receptacle 29, 39, 111, 119, 120, into which a connector 24, 44, 101, 108, 121, 134 transversely to the longitudinal direction of the hearing aid is inserted.
- the connector 24, 44, 101, 108, 121, 134 can be fixed in the connector receptacle 29, 39, 111, 119, 120 by a lock.
- the fact that the connector is inserted transversely to the longitudinal direction, it can be arranged laterally on the housing. Due to the lateral arrangement, the front end wall of the housing smaller and thus the housing can be made flatter overall.
- a microphone can be arranged, which is advantageous in terms of sound recording and directionality.
