Definitions
- the present invention relates to a method of cleaning a braiding or overbraiding machine, in particular electric cables.
- the braid or surtresse forms for example a protection cable.
- a braiding machine such as that shown in figures 1 and 2 and designated by the reference 10, comprises a support plate 12 of an annular row of members 14 for driving spindles 16.
- the members 14 extend around a first same axis A and are rotatable around second axes B substantially parallel to each other and to the first axis A.
- the organs 14, better visible at the figure 3 each comprise on the one hand a pinion 18 meshing with pinions 18 of adjacent members and secondly a wheel 20 having at its periphery notches 22 configured to receive complementary means 24 of the spindles 16 for their training around second axes B.
- each spindle 16 comprises a lower base 26 and an upper spool of threads 28.
- the base 26 here comprises two parallel plates 30, respectively upper and lower.
- the plates 30 are spaced from one another and connected together by rods forming said complementary means 24.
- the wheel 20 is intended to be engaged between the plates 30, its notches 22 receiving the rods for their rotational drive ( figure 3 ).
- the plate 12 comprises means for guiding the spindles 16, which comprise, for each of the members 14, an annular sliding path or groove 32 extending around the second axis B of the corresponding member and configured to receive at least one element 34 for guiding each spindle so as to guide it around the second axis B.
- Each sliding path 32 is connected by switch means 36 ( Figures 4 and 5 ) to adjacent sliding paths 32 for the rotational movement of the spindles 16 around the first axis A by transfer of the spindles of the organs to the adjacent members.
- the sliding paths 32 must be regularly cleaned to remove grease residues and any pieces of wire. In the current technique, this interview is done manually, as shown in figure 8 .
- the sliding paths have a relatively small width and are currently cleaned by means of a cotton fabric which is moved in the sliding paths by means for example of a chemistry spatula. This maintenance operation is long and tedious. It also represents a significant risk for the operator who manipulates the spatula to injure itself by moving the cotton fabric in the sliding paths.
- the present invention provides a simple, effective and economical solution to the problem mentioned above.
- the invention thus proposes to use a cleaning tool similar to a spindle, so that the machine cooperates with this tool and drives it around the axes as if it were a spindle.
- the tool is equipped with a guiding element which co-operates with the sliding paths, as is the case with a spindle, but which is here able to clean these paths via a means of cleaning.
- the element preferably has a specific shape promoting the drive of the cleaning means and limiting the risk of jamming of this means in the sliding paths.
- the present invention also relates to a cleaning tool for carrying out the method as described above, characterized in that it comprises a body comprising means configured to be received in at least some of the notches of each wheel in order to driving said tool about said second axes, said body carrying at least one guide member configured to be received in said sliding paths for moving said tool about said first axis, said at least one guide member configured for train or to be equipped with a means for cleaning said sliding paths.
- the present invention also relates to a braiding machine, characterized in that it is equipped with at least one cleaning tool as described above.
- the machine 10 comprises a table whose upper plate forms the plate 12 above.
- the plate 12 is substantially horizontal in the example shown. It carries a central chimney 40 of vertical axis A and around which extends the row of members 14.
- the chimney 40 extends upwards from the plate 12 and carries at its upper end a first ring 42 of axis A of revolution.
- a second ring 44 of axis A of revolution is disposed above the first ring 42 and at a distance therefrom to allow the passage of wires between the rings 42, 44.
- the second ring 44 is connected by bars 46 substantially horizontal to the upper ends of vertical rods 48 whose lower ends are fixed on the plate 12.
- the rods 48 here three in number, are regularly distributed around the axis A.
- each member 14 is located above the plate 12 and its pinion 18 is located below the plate 12.
- the pinions 18 of the members 14 are meshed with each other and with an output pinion of a motor 50, here associated with a gearbox 52.
- the motor 50 drives a first member 14 in rotation in the clockwise direction (or anti-clockwise) which will cause the driving of the adjacent members in the opposite direction. So, as is schematically represented by the arrows in figure 4 one half of the members 14 rotate clockwise and the other half of the members rotate counterclockwise.
- the guide means of the spindles 16 comprise an annular row of sectors 54 fixed on the plate 12 and each defining the sliding path 32 of the member 14 corresponding.
- Each sector 54 is here formed by a metal block in which the path 32 is formed by machining.
- the sectors 54 are arranged circumferentially end-to-end next to each other around the axis A, and comprise at their circumferential ends receiving means 56 for receiving switching means 36.
- these switching means are discs 36. At each circumferential end of a sector 54, the sliding path is interrupted by the housing 56.
- the switching disc 36 comprises two intersecting path portions, in X, which connect the circumferential ends of the path of one sector at the circumferential ends of the adjacent sector road ( Figures 4 and 5 ).
- Each spindle 16 comprises a lower base 26 and an upper spool of threads 60.
- Figures 6 and 7 show a base 26 which comprises in particular two superimposed plates 30, respectively lower and upper.
- the plates 30 have a peripheral contour of elliptical or oblong shape. They are spaced from each other and connected together by substantially vertical rods 62 visible to the figure 2 .
- the inter-plate space is configured to receive a peripheral portion of the wheel 20 of a member 14, the rods 62 being intended to be engaged in the notches 22 of the wheel 20. The cooperation of the rods 62 with the notches 22 and the rotational drive of the members 14 will result in a rotation of the spindles 16.
- the upper plate 30 carries means 64 for fixing the coil 60.
- the lower plate 30 comprises cylindrical housings 66 for receiving and guiding in rotation about parallel vertical axes C of the guide elements 34.
- Each guide element 34 comprises an upper cylindrical member 68 engaged with small gaps in the corresponding housing 66, and a lower ogive 70 intended to be engaged in the sliding paths 32 and the switch discs 36 and to cooperate with them to guide the spindles 16 in rotation around axes A and B.
- Each warhead 70 has an elongated shape and comprises a central body having two parallel side surfaces 70a, and front and rear ends pointed. Each of these ends comprises two inclined lateral surfaces 70b. Finally, each nose 70 comprises a lower surface 70c substantially perpendicular to the axis C.
- the machine 10 further comprises means for driving or winding a cable for braiding or overbraiding. These means are carried by the plate 12 and comprise a vertical arm 72 ( figure 1 ) carrying a drive wheel 74 about a horizontal axis D of a cable (not shown) for passing inside the chimney 40 and a guide ring 76 disposed above the two rings 42 44. A roll of cable not yet braided may be located under the tray 12 in storage means 78.
- the braiding machine 10 operates as follows.
- the cable to be surrounded by a braid is moved from bottom to top through the chimney 40 and the strapping 76, driven by the wheel 74.
- the spindles 16 are mounted on the wheels 20, the rods 70 of the bases 26 of the The spindles 16 being engaged in the notches 22 of the wheels 20 of the members 14.
- the spindle threads 16 pass between the rings 42, 44 and are intertwined on the cable as it moves upwards.
- each spindle 16 is rotated about the axis B by a member 14, by cooperation with the corresponding sliding path 32, and is then transferred to another member to rotate about the axis B of this other member , by cooperation on the one hand with the path portion of the disc 36 located between the members and on the other hand by the sliding path of this other member.
- a portion of the spindles 16 rotate clockwise about the axis A and the other part of the spindles turn counterclockwise about the axis A.

The
The guide means of the
