This ensures uniform wetting or moistening of almost all items of laundry 108 (even when the laundry drum 106 is fully loaded). Due to the centrifugal forces that occur during rotation at the application speed, the washing liquid is also pressed out of the laundry items 108 and is returned to the laundry drum 106 via the active pumping device 120 for further wetting of the laundry items 108.

  • control device 118 can be designed to operate the pumping device 120 during the second pumping period in such a way that the volume flow conveyed by the pumping device 120 is not less than a dripping speed of the laundry items 108.
