Definitions
- the invention relates to a method for introducing inserts into multileaf printed products, according to the preamble of claim 1 and an apparatus for introducing inserts into multi-sheet printed products, according to the preamble of claim 13.
- Inserts are to be understood to mean flat objects, for example CDs / DVDs, single sheets, printed sheets, thin booklets, reply cards, flat bags or samples of goods, which are inserted loosely between two adjacent pages of the printed product.
- the EP 0577964 A1 discloses a method and apparatus for inserting inserts between the sheets of printed products, wherein a gas stream is used to separate the sheets, wherein the dynamic pressure arising upon impact with the face is to fan and separate the sheets. After that, although an insert between the separated by the air flow pages can be introduced. However, it is no precise page separation of the printed products and thus no precise page feed the supplement possible.
- the EP 1559573 A1 discloses a method in which the inserts are placed on predetermined, horizontally transported printed products, which are then stacked into a loose book block.
- the supplements can be reproduced reproducibly and accurately, they can become unintentional during subsequent binding be integrated into the printed products.
- the inserts must be positioned and secured within the area of the printed product with extra effort so that they are outside the area of the binding.
- printed sheets and / or printed single sheets are first collected in a collating machine into loose book blocks in the production of printed products and then bound to their backs by means of adhesive binding, wire or thread stitching.
- the printed product is provided with an envelope, which is then connected to the book block.
- the book blocks bound in this way are trimmed on their open side, on the head and foot.
- the book blocks must be opened before or after cutting. It is known to lift the envelope of the book block by means of suction organs or to open the book block by means of a sword and then to supply the thus opened book block one or more supplements.
- a disadvantage of this method is that the book block is not accurate to the page, i. can be opened between two arbitrarily determinable pages and thus inserts can not be inserted page-accurate in the book block.
- one or more supplements are fed to loose, unbound book blocks after collating and before binding, the book blocks also being opened by means of a sword before the supplements are fed.
- this method it is not possible to open the book block page exactly and feed supplements targeted between any predefined pages.
- the insert must be positioned and secured within the area of the book block in such a way that it lies outside the area of the binding, otherwise the danger exists that the insert will be firmly bound into the book block.
- US 6,283,466 B1 discloses a method according to. the preamble of claim 1, and an insertion according to. the preamble of claim 13.
- the invention has for its object to provide a method which makes it possible to open multi-sheet printed products to the page after collection or collation and insert inserts exactly between two predetermined pages.
- the inventive method for introducing at least one supplement in consisting of printed sheets and / or single sheets each having a back multi-sheet printed products, which are transported in aligned with a conveying direction spine comprising the following steps: In a first step are Imas, between two adjacent sheet and / or individual sheets supplied at least one predetermined separation point having printed products, in which protrudes at least one sheet and / or at least one single sheet of the multi-sheet printed product. In a second step, the multi-leaf printed products are opened at the at least one separation point, and in a third step, the at least one separation point in the multi-leaf printed products is expanded. Finally, in a fourth step, at least one supplement is introduced into the extended separation point.
- the opening and widening of the multi-sheet printed products at a separation point offers the advantage that side-by-side pre-separation for inserting inserts takes place, whereby violation of the printed products during uncontrolled penetration of a separating element into its closed side area is avoided.
- the format-preparing step of the above-described method takes place spatially and / or temporally separated or immediately before the feeding of the multiblade printed products.
- the at least one printed sheet and / or the at least one single sheet are preferably produced in the format-preparing step with a different back length and / or a different width from the other printed sheets and / or single sheets.
- a favorable condition for the further processing results from the fact that the multi-sheet printed products are aligned in a conveyor according to two reference edges and transported with downwardly facing back by means of carriers pushing in the conveying direction.
- the multileaf printed products preferably consist of book blocks which are formed from gathered, loose or by means of adhesive binding, wire or thread stitching raw bound sheet and / or single sheets.
- printed products which contain a printed sheet and / or a single sheet with a different back length from the other printed sheets and / or single sheets are opened at a front edge by means of laterally introduced into the separation point Offnerierin. An even more accurate separation takes place when the opener elements are inserted at an acute angle to a perpendicular to the conveying direction in the separation point of the multi-leaflet printed products.
- the movement sequence of the opening elements follows a control curve extending in the conveying direction, it can be precisely determined when, where and how the opening elements engage in the multi-sheet printed product.
- the opening elements are driven at a first speed and the drivers at a second speed, wherein the two speeds in the conveying direction are at least approximately equal.
- the desired pre-separation can be carried out without a relative speed being applied in the conveying direction or bending or infringing the multi-leaf printed products.
- the speeds of the drivers and the ⁇ ffneretti be changed cyclically and synchronously in order to respond flexibly to deviations or disturbances. This allows even more accurate coordination of parallel zueinender running conveyor with the opening devices.
- opening elements are arranged on both sides in the conveying direction, whereby the multileaf printed products are opened on both sides by the opening elements.
- the printed products which have a printed sheet and / or a single sheet with a different width from the other sheets and / or single sheets, at an upper edge of one introduced into the separation point and as a ⁇ ffnerklinge trained Offnerelement opened.
- the distance of the ⁇ ffnerelements to the back of the multi-sheet printed products is adjusted according to their width.
- the separation point is widened with a separating blade and the at least one insert is introduced through a feed opening of the separating blade into the multileaf printed products.
- the altitude of the ⁇ ffnerieri is set to the conveyor according to the width of the multilayer printed products.
- the feeding of supplements in the multi-sheet printed product is preferably carried out with a speed component of a feed rate, which corresponds at least approximately to a conveying speed of the multi-sheet printed products in the conveying direction.
- a plurality of separation points are formed in a multi-sheet printed product, wherein the printed product is opened at these separation points and at least one of the inserts is introduced here.
- the inserts are inserted at an angle between 0 degrees and 180 degrees, preferably approximately perpendicular to a plane passing through the spine, into the opened multi-sheet printed product. Due to the gravity of the printed product higher insertion speeds of the inserts are possible when inserted vertically. If e.g. other structural conditions should make this type of insertion difficult, the supplements can also be introduced at any angle between 0 degrees and 180 degrees in the open printed product. The backs of the printed products could be oriented transversely to the conveying direction at any angle between 0 degrees and 360 degrees.
- the multi-sheet printed products may be laterally compressed in the area of their back during transport in the insertion area, so that fanning in this area and damage to the printed products are avoided.
- the insertion device has a format-preparing region with at least one stacking device for forming the separation point in the multi-leaf printed products.
- the insertion device may be equipped with a control device for driving printing presses and / or a cutting device and the stacking device. This then takes over the control of the devices connected via control connections, for example, to produce marks on the printed image, so that the cutting devices perform the cuts at the predicted places.
- the stacking device is driven so that when collecting the sheet and / or the single sheets with different back lengths and / or different widths in an order that arise through the formation of the desired separation points for the insertion of the supplements.
- the at least one opening element has at least one guide element which is connected to a circulating traction means, wherein a slider is arranged displaceably transversely to the conveying direction of the printed products in the guide element.
- a slider is arranged displaceably transversely to the conveying direction of the printed products in the guide element.
- the opening device is arranged at an upstream end of the separating blade and designed as a pivotable ⁇ ffnerelement, through the outstanding sheets and / or single sheets of multi-sheet printed products are selectively deflected to the right or left, transverse to the conveying direction ,
- Such an insertion device allows a page-accurate opening of multi-sheet printed products that have been provided in the format preparation area with printed sheets and / or single sheets of different widths.
- the insertion device has a delivery channel with channel walls which have a maximum height which is smaller than a width of the multi-leaflet printed products.
