  • the seal comprises a base body made of a first elastomeric material and a sealing body made of a second elastomeric material.
  • the second material has a lower hardness than the first material.
  • the base body has a first leg, a second leg and a base connecting the first leg and the second leg.
  • the seal body has a first seal portion disposed on the first leg and a second seal portion disposed on the second leg.
  • Such a seal generally serves to seal infills, that is, fill or trim elements mounted in a circumferential frame.
  • the infills may be, for example, the glass of a window.
  • a strand-shaped sealing profile, which is used as a glazing gasket is from the EP 0 291 017 A1 known.
  • the sealing profile has a base body, which is composed of a base web, two locking feet and a support nub.
  • the main body consists of an elastomeric material, which has a Shore A hardness between 50 and 70.
  • the sealing profile also has a sealing body, which serves as a sealing bead configured and arranged on the base web.
  • the sealing body is made of a softer material than the main body.
  • the sealing body may be made of sponge rubber having a density between 0.5 g / cm 3 and 0.9 g / cm 3 .
  • a seal used as a glazing gasket is also used in the EP 0 632 184 A1 described.
  • the seal has a U-shaped body in cross-section, which consists of an elastomeric material and composed of a first leg, a second leg and a first leg and the second leg interconnecting base.

  • the legs and the base to achieve a bias include an angle which is less than 90 °.
  • the legs In the assembled state of the seal, the legs bear against the side surfaces of, for example, a glass pane and then close with the voltage applied to the end face of the glass plate base an angle of about 90 °.
  • it is therefore necessary to pivot the legs outwardly, so that the legs undergo a bias in the assembled state, which contributes to a firm concern of the seal body to the glass sheet and thus to a reliable seal.
  • the ratio of the length of the end portion, viewed in the longitudinal direction of the leg, to the length of the sealing portion, viewed in the longitudinal direction of the leg at least 1: 5, preferably at least 1: 3.

  • the second material of which the seal body is made expediently has a Shore A hardness of between 30 and 60 in order to glue the seal body to sufficient deformability.
  • the second material has a cellular structure and preferably has a density between 0.2 g / cm 3 and 0.9 g / cm 3 .
  • the second material may in particular be sponge rubber or cellular rubber.
  • the sealing portion has a sealing surface, which is preferably concavely curved.

  • the sealing portion expediently further comprises a mounting surface, which is preferably provided with a recess.
  • the recess serves to fix the mounting surface on, for example, a frame.
  • the sealing section preferably also has an outer surface which connects the sealing surface and the fastening surface and which is preferably curved. The curved design of the outer surface to be recognized in the installed state of the seal gives the seal an aesthetically pleasing design.
  • the base is provided with a plurality of openings which are arranged in the longitudinal direction of the seal at a distance from each other.
  • the advantageously equidistantly arranged openings cause a ventilation of a glass pane enclosed by the gasket, for example.
  • the base is provided on the side facing away from the legs and / or on the side facing the legs with at least one recess.
  • the recess on the side facing away from the legs contributes to a secure attachment of the seal to, for example, a frame.
  • the recess on the side facing the legs makes it possible to create a connection between the openings of the base, in order to effect a sufficient ventilation in this way.
  • the leg is provided with a retaining lip.
  • the retaining lip contributes to a reliable attachment of the seal to, for example, a frame.
  • the base is curved in cross-section, preferably convex, so that in the mounted state, the base exerts a bias.
  • a practice-oriented production of the seal according to the invention results when the main body and the sealing body are manufactured by coextrusion. Depending on the application, however, it is also possible to extrude the base body and to manufacture the sealing body by injection molding.

  • the sealing sections 21, 22 furthermore each have a curved outer surface 26, which connects the sealing surface 23 and the fastening surface 24 to one another.
  • Fig. 1 and 2 indicate the base is provided with a plurality of openings 15 which are arranged in the longitudinal direction of the seal at a distance a from each other.
  • the base 13 is also provided on the side facing away from the legs 11, 12 with recesses 16.
  • the base 13 is provided on the side facing the legs with a recess 17 which connects the openings 15 in the longitudinal direction of the seal together and thus ensures that the openings 15 cause sufficient ventilation of the glass sheet 31.
  • the legs 11, 12 are, in particular Fig. 3 can be seen on the side facing away from the insulating glass 31 each provided with a retaining lip 18, which contributes to a reliable attachment of the seal to the frame 32.
  • the legs 11, 12 and the base 13 form an angle ⁇ , which, in particular Fig. 1 is less than 90 °.
