Description

The invention relates to a method for the production of adhesive bound book block formed from gathered printed sheet according to claim 1. It also relates to an apparatus for performing this method according to claim 2.

In the industrial production of adhesive bound printed products, such as magazines, catalogs, paperbacks or similar products, printed sheets are collected in a first step to loose book block and then processed in an adhesive binder in the spine area and glued and glued with an envelope resp. bound. The position of the printed image of the sheet is referenced to the back edges and usually after the top edges, so that when all the sheets of a loose book block are aligned to these reference edges, all pages within a book block are also aligned. According to the prior art, the printed sheets are collected in a conveyor channel lying by rotating conveyor elements and aligned. Such a gathering device used in such a way is for example by the EP 1 726 552 A1 disclosed. After assembly, the loose book blocks whose back edges are aligned transversely to the direction of rotation are rotated by 90 °, so that the back edges are now aligned parallel to the conveying direction. In a further step, the loose book blocks are placed on the back edges, so that their flat sides are vertical, and in this position from below in introduced the transport clamps of perfect binder. Such an approach is post-published EP 1 886 832 A1 the applicant discloses. Throughout the binding process, the book blocks are clamped in circulating transport clamps, their flat sides are directed vertically and parallel to the transport direction and the back areas of the transport brackets slightly protruding down. The positioning accuracy of the book blocks in the transport clamps is crucial for the quality of a book.

Out EP 1 155 874 A2 For example, a device for laterally binding printed products has become known, this device comprising at least one station for laterally stapling a book. Accordingly, a stapler can not compare with an adhesive binding device, which is also pointed out at the same time that in such a lateral stapling the book blocks are not just standing on their backs, because that would not perform this same operation with the necessary care. From this document initially it is not clear that the book blocks are transported standing on their backs, and that the binding device is an adhesive binding device. This fact is accentuated in this document to the effect that, under par. [0006], adhesive bindings have the disadvantage that the durability of the glued backs diminishes due to frequent use, so that the person skilled in the art is not stopped, the binding device by an adhesive binding device to replace. Moreover, it is apparent from Par. [0007] that in order to improve the adhesive bonds and in particular the durability of the binding, the signatures or sheets are laterally stapled with wire using separate stapling devices.

Out DE 102 21 542 A1 Signatures or signatures are bound using separate lateral stapling devices (Par. [0022]), such that the same considerations apply here as in the previous publication EP 1 155 874 A2 , Although this document leads a way in the leadership of Book blocks on which the book blocks are placed on the back standing over an import (column 3, lines 34, 35). However, it has previously been pointed out clearly that these book blocks are already bound (column 3, line 32), so that taking this position can not occur in front of an adhesive binding device.

Thus, the inventive article according to the closest prior art according to EP 1 155 874 A2 at least two advantageous advantages, which are to be seen in that on the one hand, an adhesive binding device is used, and on the other hand that the book blocks have a defined position during the transfer.

The invention has for its object to be able to perform the book clips formed loosely assembled sheet from the transport clamps an adhesive binding device exactly.

The object is achieved according to the invention that in a method for producing from bonded sheet (1) formed adhesive bound book block which forms the unbound book block sheet each standing on the back standing on a transfer section of an open transport clip an adhesive binding device and then from the closed transport clamp on a portion of the flat outer sides of the book block distributed with a holding force to be held. The collated sheets of the book block are on a the transfer section downstream alignment section in the transport clamp of this dissolved and guided aligned. After aligning and prior to exiting the registration section for aligning the signature, closing the transfer bracket therefrom, for further processing transport on the flat outer surfaces of the book block, results in the transfer clamp having the processing station in a processing path of the adhesive binder device Clamping force applied and clamped, wherein the holding force is less than the clamping force.

The object is further achieved according to the invention in that a device having a transfer section, an alignment section and a processing section of an adhesive binder device, with a conveying device forming a transfer region with the transfer section and the processing section connected downstream of the transfer section is formed. The adhesive binding device has on a rotating traction means at regular intervals fixed transport clamps for fed through the conveyor block book block, wherein at the rear in the conveying direction end owning the book block associated carrier transport brackets each having a fixedly connected to the traction means, a first jaw forming the first clamp member and a second clamping member forming a second clamping jaw and movably arranged on the latter for opening and closing a transporting clamp transversely to the conveying direction. The second jaw has on its clamping surface projecting, on a flat outer side of the book block partially acting and retractable from the clamping surface holding device, wherein the transfer section of the adhesive binding device is followed by an alignment, the one within a solved by a controlled opening movement of the transport clamp, the Sheet of a book block standing receiving guide assembly is assigned.

Thus, the inventive article according to the closest prior art according to EP 1 155 874 A2 at least two advantageous advantages on, which can be seen therein that on the one hand, an adhesive binding device is used, and on the other hand that the book blocks have a defined position during the transfer, with holding force and clamping force being kept individual.

But also in the second acknowledged document, DE 102 21 542 A1 , the book blocks are not guided over a preparatory conveyor device according to the invention, in which a targeted orientation can be set before they then arrive at a further processing stage. Especially in this document no conveyor is provided, within which the book block formed by the loose sheet can be introduced from below into the open transport clamps of the adhesive binding device.

In summary, according to the invention, the adhesive binding device is based on an anticipatory transfer path, in which that orientation of the printed sheet takes place, which forms a decisive quality improvement in the subsequent adhesive binding operation. In addition, this quality improvement can only be fully effective if the sheets are inserted from below into the open transport clips of the adhesive binding device, because only this ensures that the alignment is not lost in the delicate transfer into the transport clamps.

a section through the transport bracket after Fig. 2 ,

Fig. 1 shows a transfer section 4 and an adjoining the transfer section 4 processing section 12 of an adhesive binding device, which has at a rotating traction means 16 at regular intervals fixed transport clamps 5 for receiving and transporting of loosely assembled sheet 1 book block 2. Each transport bracket 5 consists of a respective fixed to the traction means 16, a first jaw 17 forming the first clamp member 18 and a latter to open and close a transport bracket 5 transversely to the conveying direction F movably arranged and guided, a second jaw 19 forming second clamp member 20 between them the loose book blocks 2 are clamped. Each transport bracket 5 has at the rear in the conveying direction F end 14 of the book block 2 associated driver 15 (see also Fig. 2 and 3 ). The first clamp member 18 is slidably guided by means of rollers in a guide 32 in the conveying direction F and driven by the traction means 16. With a closing spring, not shown, such as in CH 504 977 disclosed, the second clamp member 20 can be clamped against the first clamp member 18 with a clamping force required during machining. The movable second clamp part 20 also has a holding device 21 projecting over a clamping surface 9 of the second clamping jaw 19 and projecting on a flat outer side 6 of a book block 2, which retracts from a clamping surface 9 and is formed by a plurality of retaining elements 23 movable perpendicular to the clamping surface 9 , which are jointly assigned to a retraction device 24 and actuated by this. The retraction device 24 consists essentially of a guided on the second clamp member 20 on longitudinal guides 33 and spring-loaded against the second clamp member 20 bar 35 which is displaceable by a roller 34 by a control rail 8 transversely to the conveying direction F. To produce a required for the promotion of the book block 2 in the transport brackets 5 holding force the retaining elements 23 are each supported against a force applied by springs 31 spring force.

Due to the distribution of the clamping force against the lower holding force on a few faces of the outsides of a book block for safe transport of the book block 2 from the transfer section 4 to the conveyor section 7, respectively. Alignment section 13, a sticking of the sheet 2 with each other and the outermost sheet 2 on the jaws 17,19 is avoided. For opening and closing the transport clamps 5, an opener rail 22 is provided, with which the second clamp part 20 can be supported against the force of the closing spring and holds the transport clamp 5 with the required opening width W for aligning the printed sheet 1 of a book block 2. By means of a conveying device 11, the loose book block 2 formed from gathered, each standing on the spine sheet 1 are introduced from below into the open transport brackets 5 of the adhesive binding device on a transfer region 10 formed by the conveyor 11 and the transfer section 4. In the area of the transfer section 4, the opening width W is chosen such that the loose printed sheets 1 of the book block 2 can be inserted without interference between the clamping jaws 17, 19, wherein the retaining elements 23 are set back by the retraction device 24 into their inactive outer end position. The conveyor device 11 consists essentially of a plurality of in a web 25, circumferentially driven and provided with grippers 27 conveying elements 26. During the transfer of the conveyor 11 into the open transport clamps 5 of the adhesive binding device, the book blocks 2 are each standing on their backs through the Gripper 27 clamped on their flat sides 6 resp. held and laterally guided by the jaws 17,19. The conveying elements 26 remain to-how Fig. 1 shows substantially horizontally aligned. The horizontal component The conveyor speed of the conveyor elements 26 with the book block 2 corresponds approximately to the transport speed of the transport clamps 5 in the conveying direction F. As soon as the conveyor elements 26 reach an upper, straight and parallel to the conveying direction F section 28 of the web 25, the book blocks 2 partially over their flat outer sides 6 distributed in the transport clamps 5 between the movable retaining elements 23 and the first clamping jaw 17 detected with a holding force, respectively. held, and the gripper 27 of the conveying elements 26 is opened and deflected in a return section 29 of the web 25. For this purpose, the retraction device 24 is pressed by means of the control rail 8 against the transport clamp 5 and the retaining elements 23 released so that they can press the sheets 31 against the first clamping jaw 17 of the first clamp member 18 with the force of the springs. The thus adopted in the transfer section 4 by the transport brackets 5 book block 2 are then fed to the conveyor section 7, which is configured by an alignment section 13 having alignment table 30 on which the sheets 1 are aligned at sufficiently open transport bracket 5. In the conveying section 7, the retaining elements 23 are moved back together by the retraction device 24 back to its inactive outer end position. The loose book blocks 2 are now guided between the first clamping jaw 17 and the second clamping jaw 19 on the flat outer sides 6 and the back 3 by the alignment table 30 from below and are aligned. The further transport of the book blocks 2 in the conveying direction F takes place in each case by means of the arranged at the rear end 14 of the transport clamps 5 drivers 15, wherein the sheets 1 are simultaneously pushed on the drivers 15 evenly. For support of the alignment operation, the alignment table 30 may be vibratorily driven or vibrated. In the region of the downstream end of the alignment table 30, or before leaving the designated for aligning the sheet 1 conveying section 7 respectively. Alignment 13, the transport clamps 5 are closed and the book blocks 2 clamped between the clamping surfaces 9 of the clamping jaws 17,19 with the clamping force required for processing on the flat outer sides 6 for further processing transport. The holding force by the transport brackets 5 on the book block 2 during the transfer from the transfer section 4 to the conveyor section 7 is substantially less than the clamping force to be exerted during machining.
